Yeah, the first time I played this level I also witnessed that glitch. I did the exact thing you did and saw things turning quite bizarre. It's actually quite creepy when the music just stops and all the background noises still go on. I had to reset the whole game to hear the music again. :)
i also found a glitch where in level one of slimy sewer if you die while using the vacuum the sound of the vacuum still goes even when its says try again or exit. the sounds stops once you suck up a slugs. dont worry though its still one of the best wiiware games availible :)
Lost wind easily beats this i have both and one i stopped playing 2 days after gettin it(toki tori) and the other i couldn't stop til i beat it!(lost winds)
