  • Rather interesting, though I can't imagine that is particularly good footing. Sounds like he's running on something that won't prove too kind to his legs and joints.

  • The thing around him is to check his pulse and vitals, idk if you can tell, but this is probably for research. If that wire comes undone, like if the horse trips, the machine will shut off.

  • What is he falls ?????? sorry i just had 2 ask

    or trips

  • @Fave38 He is in a sling. The thing around his girth is like a rubber band. If he trips or falls. it will catch him, and the treadmill will shut it self off.

  • @FreeMare Oh thanks :)) !

  • there's something cathartic about watching these videos... =P

  • BAHAHA I'm sure that rope would hold the horse.... NOT!!!!!!!

  • @jenjen204 the rope does hold the horse maybe not for long but enough to help them if they trip or fall.

  • wonderful long strides

  • why are they painted on but very cool painting

  • @AmericanPitbulls1 to show the movement and placement of muscles and bones in the horse in movement and stationary :) its good fun. i went to college her and we did this with what looks like dulux and chalk

  • This horse has beautiful posture and movement.

  • @MissRodeoChick202 It looks like it is paint showing you where the horse's muscles and skeleton are, and also highlighting the movement of specific muscles.

  • Is that paint on the horse?

  • REaly nice ;)

  • There are only three beats in a gallop or canter, whatever you want to call it.

  • @FromWishingDreams Unless you are from a country where canter and gallop don't have separate names then not quite. Read a horse book and you'll find out that canter has 3 and gallop has 4. They look pretty much the same just gallop is a fast, stretched out version of canter and so the horse has to place its hooves slightly differently.

  • where is this college and what exactly does it teach? :)

  • @JesusFreak494 Its in Gloucestershire, England. It's an equine, land and animal science based college which teaches Degrees (BSc and BA) and national diplomas! I'm in second year now here its amazing!

  • Now that's a horse of a different color.

  • why this horse is painted?

  • @fenog99

It's part of training, to see which muscles and bones are used. :)

    Normally used for BHS stages.

  • Thats so cool how they traced the bones/muscles on him to see how his body actually moves..

  • thats so cool!!!!

  • That's a freaking fast horse o-o and pretty... with alot of endurance...

  • Love the anatomy placed on the skin of the horses.

  • YAY for a harness :D

  • this horse holds it's head and neck beautifully.

  • Walk - 4 beats - avg. speed 2 mph

    Trot - 2 beats - avg. speed 8 mph

    Canter - 3 beats - avg. speed 12 mph

Gallop - 4 beats - avg. speed 18 mph, but can vary greatly

  • are you sure that's a gallop n not just a fast canter? i'm only hearing 3 beats

  • @AyeYirMa Gallop is 3 beats

  • @JazperTheEventer it's 4, each hoof hits the ground at a different time creating 4 separate strikes.

  • @JazperTheEventer I guess a canter is a 3-beat while a galop is a 4-beat. That's what I've learned from the English vocabulary on horses..

(But here in Holland, we don't have two different names on the 3-beat and 4-beat.. ^^; )

  • @AyeYirMa galloping can be 3 beats in some horses depending on how they run

  • @Gluesticks203 then its not a true gallop, a gallop is described as a 4 beated gait with one foot on the ground at a time with a period of suspension

  • @AyeYirMa i think you can pretty much see that it's a gallop

  • @AyeYirMa i only hear three too

  • Fantastic vids btw... very useful!

  • Hi there...

I'm having a hard time choosing between Hartpury and Writtle to study Equine Sports Science/Therapy...

Do you know if the 'Equine Sports Science' course offers any external qualifications, such as equine massage? As Writtle offer that.

  • @ChukchiCatori Hi im just wondering wether you decided to go to hartpury or writtle in the end? hope its good whereever!

  • @PkBelle Aww thank you for wondering :D.... I've actually stayed out of education for another year to save money, as I'm heading off abroad to study :)
