  • what if i dont know how to play chess, is this game still worth playing?

  • I love this game. The programming for the computer character is amazinlgly good, and i've never had the game glitch up on me.

  • Why is the picture so pixilated? Unlike the new ones where it looks very crisp and not pixilated

  • I was around 5 when I played this game. I didn't know what the hell was going on and when I would get in a "battle" I would mash buttons and hope I won...

  • Very good review. I'm certain, this is not my next game. It seems like a cool idea, but just how long it takes, and easy not being very easy, I'll pass.

  • 00:37Would you really play the Roy Lopez?

  • Battle Chess reminds me of Wizard Chess from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

  • I loved this game as a kid.

  • That's stupid that other pieces make way for the knight. The knight, or horse, obviously jumps. I expect if you let your knight attack beyond the enemies defense line the enemy defenders will also walk out of the way, now how stupid is that?

  • When I buy nes games Ive never heard of I tend to pay to much attention to the picture and just briefly read the title. I bought this game thinking it would be an awesome action game called battle chest..............but its chess. Slow chess at that.

  • man they ruint his game with the slow movement... the Amiga version was awesome.

  • 0:50 - 0:57 = the best part XD

  • This guy has the best God damn accent. Are you from Boston?

  • He is..he mentioned it on his review of "Blades of Steel"

  • @JerryTerrifying I totally agree. His accent is awesome. And I heard him say in another video that he is from Boston.

  • "but the queen can move as many spaces as she wants, so waiting on her can be time consuming.....cmon bitch!"

    lolz xD

  • I played this game on PC when it came out, the graphics were much better and it was faster. Definitely superior to the NES version. Fun game.

  • COOL

  • That game looks boring as hell. And I love chess.

  • The original PC version is much better. Old as hell for DOS, but great fun and challenging even for a good player.

  • The horizontal rule only works if the attacking pawn has moved 2 spaces on its first move and there is a pawn in the adjacent space. It's called "en passant" and it actually is an official rule.

  • Damn that guy got owned.

  • @HugeContact180 You lose. Good day, sir.

  • Talking about chess isn't the easiest thing ever, but I still liked the review. Thanks for the the memories. My first PC had this game on it.

Yes you can switch to the 2D view for smoother gameplay, but where's the fun in that? I played mainly to watch the pieces duke it out. By the way congrats on surpassing the 1,000 subscriber mark.

  • I'm not used to video reviews as thorough and specific as yours, but it's a nice a change of pace. Keep up the good work.

  • Pawn kicked the knight in his sack

  • he kciked him in the nuts? XD

  • Not diagonally, I said "horizontally."

  • @AqualungGameReviews HELL I HAVE THIS GAME ON MY COMPUTER i downloaded it for free so I dont need to play this shity game

  • The horizontal capture is legal, provided the pawn moved 2 slots to go horizontal...in order to evade capture by another pawn...

You move diagonally forward ahead of the pawn and take him as though he was in that space.

  • COME ON!!! MOVE FASTER YOU BITCH!. (Y)

  • *Come on move faster you bitch* LMFAO great review you are starting to become my new favorite reviewer I really like you're style.

  • yeah, whats the deal with every computer opponent being EXTRA good ..... on easy!!!?

  • watch this video and see success battle chess. Bad programming...

  • now bad for a ned game

  • COOL REVIEW BUD!

  • I had the pc version.. (i think i still have it on a cd somewhere) The pieces moved alot faster in it. The computer was the same bitch and it was hard to see behind the pieces at a few spots. (since they are "3d") But the battles.. Loved 'em.

  • I had this game growing up and I loved it. I'm not a master chessman either, but this game would rip me up lol

  • Game was ok just moves are slow.

  • Frustrating at novice? LOL, even a 1400-player can easily beat this game at the best level. For fast improvement visit your local chess club and start playing some blitz games.

  • Good review, just feels a tad short because I'm used to the walkthrough and your extended commentaries, which are great.

  • I used to play the C64 version to death.

  • i used to lose sooooooo many times in this game.nice review

  • Of course, the Copyrighted 1993 Microsoft Window's version is the best and the fastest one of the game! Not only so, but the sound effect is drastically improved, and there is well-done classical-age music playing in the backround to sooth your mind while you think. Perhaps you should do a review on that one. :-)

  • This game simply breathes : I suck.

  • Pretty nicem, very boring choice of game.

  • I played this on the computer. After a while while playing, everything moves faster. Hell, the queen is the fastest next to the knight in the game I played

  • Nice
