Yes, the training method does seem a slight bit weird, however we seem to get quicker success with this method, than with having trainees start with the outriggers down, and then pulling them up. This method allows them to understand the dynamics of countersteering to get the vehicle up off the training axle, which then teaches them how to maintain vehicle balance through countersteering. Both methods work, but lately we've been focusing on this one.
This seems a really weird way of teaching people - do some of them not go straight over onto the outriggers on the other side. What is he doing at 1;36 is that the gear he's changing with his thumb?
@john043434343 as far as I know, you change the gears with your left forefinger while you clutch with your left foot... (-> "MonoTracer in the Gadget Show" at 4:02) and you control the outriggers/stabilizers with your left thumb... at 1:25 he pulls them up and at 1:36 he may have mistaken the direction to lower the stabilizers again... but maybe it's connected somehow to the Softmode-Stabilizers that comes as a 1500$ option...
