Australia is a HUGE financial risk due to the sale of television rights. USA 94 remains as the most sucessful world cup in history in both television numbers and ticket sales which australia due to its geographical isolation and small population can not match. Australia is a strong economy, yes, it is also a politically stable and democratic nation with some of the highest levels of development in the world, and all of the infrastructure is in place (apart from some stadiums that need to be developed). There are strategic reasons why they select countries. All the stats you quote are waffle. It's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. The Aussies are by far the best bet for a fantastic World Cup in 2022. It's a stable, secure, peaceful country. They would be superb hosts in just the same way as they were for the 2000 Olympics, considered ''the best Olympics'' ever.

Qataris involved with the bid knew they were going to win, even a year out from the vote.I've been speaking to a fair few of them through various channels and everybody thought it was rubbish,but it was the truth,after their Olympic bid failure they planned the vote rigging and bribery within FIFA meticulously and decisively and it was further enhanced through governments, FA's, media etc

@Kojack42 The olympics was 10 years ago and the state of NSW is STILL paying for it. ALOT of new stadia need to be built, and all of the existing need extensive renovation to be brought up to par. Australia is a HUGE financial risk due to the sale of television rights. USA 94 remains as the most sucessful world cup in history in both television numbers and ticket sales which australia due to its geographical isolation and small population can not match. FIFA will return to USA

Asmuch as i would love you to have the world cup, i seriously doubt it will happen. Australia is a strong economy, yes, it is also a politically stable and democratic nation with some of the highest levels of development in the world, and all of the infrastructure is in place (apart from some stadiums that need to be developed). What you don't understand is THAT IS NOT A SELLING POINT in the eyes of fifa. Look at some of the shitholes that have hosted world cups. South Africa, Brazil, mexico

There are strategic reasons why they select countries. All the stats you quote are waffle. America has far bigger potential, all the tournaments major sponsors are in america, it is in a friendly time zone, and they have a greater capacity to fill stadiums. As much as i would like a world cup in australia, i don't think it will happen. A USA world cup will be more profitable, that means more than expanding the game in a small country with ~20 mil.
