  • I miss her so much

  • Which came first this or Autumn Leaves ?

  • This: Yves Montand introduced the song ‘Les Feuilles Mortes’ in the 1946 film Les Portes De La Nuit, a gloomy urban drama set in post World War II Paris. As garbidz said a couple weeks ago, it was the colaboration between Prevert (poet), Kosma (composer) and Montand (singer).

  • Prevert-Kosma-Montand, the purest golden nostalgy there ever will be.

  • What ever you can say dou40006, Yves Montand is a great singer and you, you're just a dickhead.

Just a great and beautiful song.

  • Beautiful.....

  • One of the most beautiful song I ever heard!

  • Absolutely great version of the song. Thanks Nexus. If I may though, although "dead leaves" is the correct translation, the English version's name is "The Autumn Leaves".

    Peace.

  • dead leaves = direct translation. Autumn leaves = thematic translation. These 2 translation are all correct. One would be better than the other depending on the contextual approach.

  • I wasn't arguing which one is better or worst, the English version is named "Autumn Leaves" and not "Dead Leaves".

If Nexus would put "Autumn Leaves" instead of "Dead Leaves" in the tags, this video would get more hits. That was my point.

    Peace.

  • Done. Thanks KeremHanci ;-)

  • @KeremHanci If i good remenber its a french song at begin not an english :)

French egocentrism sry, they are not only english culture, we are french and we still be french, a real culture that dont speak english, english culture is nice but french are great =)

  • @JindoOOOOO123 Apparamment tu n'as pas compris ce que j'ai écrit... :o)

  • @KeremHanci And even though it does not contain the correct translation, Nat King Cole made it a hit in English. I love either Montand's version or Azanvour, both in French. Lovely song, thanks for the memory.

  • Merci bien!

  • Thanks for posting this. In any language this is a killer song.

  • Merci...Yves...

  • It's sooooo amaaaazing...merci pour ca.

  • It was beautiful beyond words. Thank you so much for this

  • you are wellcome ;)
