  • Sounds fair enough on your likes and dislikes, I'm not much of a GPS guy either, I much rather have a detailed map.

Its also great to stop at the scenic viewpoints on a tour and have a brief break, take some photos of the area and look at the map.

Did I mention that maps don't malfunction or need to recalculate? ;-)

  • Hey Mike thanks for the little dealer tour of the '12 wing. So what are your likes and dislikes on this model over your present model.

  • @RideCamVids Likes: front looks good, black out headlights, wider fairing, increased wind protection, slightly larger side bag compartments, improved front suspension. Dislikes: don't care for the rear end treatment, audio controls moved to left lower fairing, square fog lamp housing, locking glove box where audio controls used to be (this space holds the airbag in those models) I don't care for onboard GPS (I'm a map kinda guy)

  • Good video, really felt like I was in the showroom looking at it.

  • What a beautiful piece of machinery. So much nicer than the old school design. Adapt or die, I guess.

  • i like it.

  • cant believe that devout wing owners would consider this model, it looks cheap, like a bmw :)

no character left in it :(

  • @GoldwingDaz I should note that this 'new' model looks a lot better in person versus this or any other video I've seen. I should also note that since they have not changed the underlying platform it is still the 'same' Gold Wing as far as power, performance and handling is concerned. Still, I won't be upgrading from my 2002 anytime soon :)

  • MSRP for the 4 Gold Wing 2012 models are:

    1. Gold Wing Audio Comfort $23,199.00

    2. Gold Wing Audio Comfort Navi XM $25,899.00

    3. Gold Wing Audio Comfort Navi XM ABS $27,099.00

    4. Gold Wing Airbag $28,499.00

  • @Mikes1800

Thank you Mikes Here in France , the 2012 GL base model will be sold about 32000 Euros !......($ 45800 !! )

You are lucky in the United States !

  • @pougatchoff for that kind of money you could almost order 2 of them from the US and ship them over? Or are there import tariffs or rules and regulations that forbid that? We got a lot less lucky here when they moved Gold Wing manufacturing from Ohio US back to Japan in 2010, but the move has had little impact on the new pricing versus a 2010 model so I guess our luck breaks even :)

  • @Mikes1800

I just bought the Airbag model in black. It was rather difficult for my dealer to locate as not many dealers seem to stock them -- but ultimately they found on in Arkansas and drove it back to St. Louis today. It's still in the crate and should be assembled and ready for pick up tomorrow (9/1/11). I'm very excited, this is my first Gold Wing and I really like the looks of it compared to previous models.

  • @pmgodfrey welcome to the Goldwing world, you will not be disappointed.

  • Nice but i still love yours better i hope that the next vid isn't you bringing it home with you but ya know if you do decide to get it i'll take the 02 off your hands LOL

  • Hi Mikes !

$23000 for the base model but how much does it cost for the model including options ? GPS , Airbag ? what else ?

    Thanks

  • @pougatchoff I did not get a price from the dealer on the other models, of which there are 4 total.

    1. Base model (shown here) Gold Wing Audio Comfort

heated grips, seat and foot warmers. Premium Surround Sound, Cruise Control and Electric Reverse.

    2. Audio Comfort Navi XM.

Everything in package 1 plus upgraded Satellite-Linked Navigation System and XM Radio.

    3. Audio Comfort Navi XM ABS

Everything in package 1 and 2 plus ABS.

    4. Gold Wing Airbag

Everything in package 1, 2, 3 plus driver airbag.

  • @pougatchoff I believe all models have an MP3/iPod dock in the trunk with forward controls. The CB radio is an option for all models, as are lower driving lights. I'll check on pricing for all models and post them here.

  • Don't get greedy now. you've already got one of this baby hehe

  • @RayXRSV not to worry, I can't afford to be greedy lol

  • I agree with you. I like the look right up until you see the lights under the trunk. Good looking ride overall though.

  • @boiserigger it does look better coming than going, a style disconnect from the trunk down.
