I think the accoustic reverberation precluded the speedy tempo. When the misic stops, you can almost hear the music reverberate throughout the UNIVERSE!

this is my favorite movement of any Widor Symphony- bravo- I've tried off and on for 30 years to master it

Great achievement to be able to play this piece. Respect! It should be a bit faster though... but I understand that's hard! ;)
