This is one of the better LG OLED TV videos that show the full color capabilities of the set. I am making a review video next month on this TV directly from the LG OLED Factory in South Korea. I will also have a review video coming up on the 55LM9600 ( special hook ups) in next couple weeks.
@FELIPEROMEO APPLE TV? you mean that box thingy? How can it put it to shame when there is no screen lol! IS apple going to make cars too and put BMW and Benz to shame?
I saw another video of an LG Canada representative, and he claimed there will be no sticker shock when this TV hit the market in third quarter this year!
@bulletproof2353 This is 1080p/ Flicker free passive 3D glasses/ 1000times faster response time than existing LCD TV. This may possible to glassesless 3D, but it will be narrowed viewing angle as like LG 3D smart phone and will be more expensive? :D
Notice there was absolutely no mention of the sound quality. I hate TVs this thin. I like buttons I can see and use. This thin means less space for stuff or stick it all in back. Or...ack.. full remote control. Ulkgk...
@EBTL0947 who in their right mind would by a tv like this and use the tv speakers? lol
get a nice 5.1 surrong system you cheap fuck
there is no point in having a set like this if you dnot have a nice surround system, hell they shouldnt even bother putting speakers in these tv that are over 42 inch , id rather buy the monitor version with no tuner and no speakers, why have a tv like this with a tuner even? your going to use an antenna? lol
@bulletproof2353 WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? Where did I WRITE anything about using the native speakers? I was high when i wrote it, but YOUR HIGHER for thinking that shit! I said he never mention how it sounded in his setup.
@EBTL0947 The main control stuffs will be enter bottom stand, even speakers too. Thinking sounds importantly people will purchase separated outer extra speakers. :)
@funkyfreshrob Exactly right!! I used to live and breath Sony TV's when they were CRT's but the flat screen industry isn't where they shine. I've been shopping for my first HDTV and each time I look at Sony I immediately jump to either LG or Samsung. I don't want another Sony, they are notorious for cutting corners with their mid-priced products. If you don't spend top dollar then Sony hates you.
@macuser5555 I would take Sony over Samsung and LG anyday. I never had good experiences with both companies. My last Samsung TV died in 3 months. Warranty service was terrible. I had problem with image quality of Samsung LCD Monitor. Replaced 4 times, and ended up buying Dell monitor instead. And LG...I don't even want to talk it. With Sony, overall I'm very satisfied with Sony quality and service. Whenever I have problems, they always provide excellent services.
how thin and sharp do really need? Makes no diff how thin it is when your staring from the front. You eyes also sees so much as far as color and sharpness.
@TheOwlCreek CES is just companies showing off what they can do now. it will eventually come out but the price would be way to high for an average person to buy one
i still have a SONY CRT because they have not reliced a OLED to replace it. what is the point of bying a LCD when it is so expensive and the quality is just not there cant w8 for a OLED ;)
OLED ... oxygen can kill it LOLOLOL ... sorry but tech so fragile well I am not interested in it ... and the guaranteed only to live 7 yr life cycle well that is fail too
@DeViLzzz2006 You need to update yourself. The first Oled displays had a lifespan of 14 000 hours or about 5 years if used 8 hours a day. However, in 2007 (yes 5 years ago) a new technology was developt which increases the lifespan of OLED by 65 000 Hours (blue oled) or 200 000 hours (green Oled). In comparison, a normal LCD back in 2007 had a lifespan of about 40 000 hours. We are now 5 years from that... do you really think it's still an issue?? Please update yourself.
@DeViLzzz2006 ( cdtltd.co.uk/technology/status/ )Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung has also develop a technique to further extend the lifespan of OLED by "improving light outcoupling, thus achieving the same brightness at a lower drive current." -Wikipedia
OLED lifespan now exceed that of LCD displays. The link above is just a simple graph comparison from Cambridge University. See the improvement from 2005-2011. And that is with 1000 cm/m^2. Any display only need 350-400 cd/m^2 output
My guess tv will cost at least 30k and Sony discontinuing making them. Due to cost too much and issue behind making them.. Sony announce they called it quits yesterday on making o-led tv but will continue to make monitors for now..
i think that the LG tv's have a really good contrast, but i can't put my finger on it, but it feels like the quality just isn't there. the glass is really thin (i know that's to keep the TV thin, but it's cheap and thin glass) and the plastic that they use is really cheap and feels like it came out of a dodge neon. i would rather spend the money on a more quality brand like sharp or sony. i just have never been a huge fan of LG tv's.
