couldve lobbed it cross court, then come in and hit it to the open court... That is, if nadal doesnt hit somekind of jedi tweener mindblowing down the line, where the ball hits the corner by only 1/64th of a milimeter......
This forehand to the corner by Nadal is so high, long and fast - there is nothing you can do with that. I mean it is theoretically impossible to return it in a way that doesn't give Nadal control over the point.
Sometimes Nadal manages to play forehands like this during the whole match, and when he does, I think it is pretty much impossible to beat him, even on hard court. Federer HATES this shot.
@phantasiehamster Completely agree with this. However, Federer seems to deal with it better than a lot of players with his innate talent to hit ridiculous half-volleys, but he can't pull it off all the time.
@phantasiehamster Federer can play this shot any time no problem. What are you talking about, he's one of the first who tried this shot. Watch Nadal in 5 years he's going to be a nobody. Whereas Federer is going to be winning closer to the 77 titles mark.
@saikishan haha watch the Australian Open final 2009...it will show that he can't. In fact, it becomes painfully obvious he can't, and he lets a few shouts out in frustration over it. And then he cries about it.
He and I are both right-handers and his left-handed backhand smash is about 500X better than my right-handed forehand smash.

@LANGWANG37 his left handed everything is better than your right handed smash LOL, he plays all of his tennis with his left hand

Sorry, but Nadal and Federer can not compare with Sampras and Pancho Gonzalez. This cats can not adjust, hopefully Djovocik will.

@phantasiehamster totally agree, this video should have been named 'forehand to the corner' instead backhand overhead...
