  • This was my favorite song when I was 11. When I was 12, it was one of the two first albums I bought with my own money.

  • Why the hell is this song so damn hard to find?

  • I didn't remember the name of this song at first...saw Rogers perform it live on the Tonight Show sometime during 1989-90. Then I saw the video form on KFVS-12 Cape Girardeau, MO in 1994 or 1995 during overnight on a Saturday, as a filler sometime around the time they were replaying the Rush Limbaugh TV shows of the previous week.

  • I've always loved this song.

  • Anyone who says that good music is rare these days, needs to look beyond the radio and television. There is so much good music out there you couldn't listen to all during your lifetime. This song however, sounds like a joke to me. Listen to Gerry Rafferty or Neil Diamond before subjecting yourself to this Disney Channel-esque tune.

  • I agree with VincentVanHorn, once in a great while a good song will come out nowday,s thats good (none of them country songs) tons of great music in the 80,s rock, pop, country, etc.

  • Bauru nos anos 1970 estava para Dallas na mesma época, skyscrapers de vidro, skyline ensolarado, quente e seco, noites frias, movimento urbano e rural, meninada corada e bonita.

  • I still love this song, and have an old tape copy somewhere around the house, provided the march of time hasn't ruined it. I'd love to see a better quality video copy. Even for all it's simplicity, Kenny did a good thing with this one. A nice simple song filled with imagination and flights of fancy. It seems we don't get enough of that these days.

A tip o' the hat to you, KR.

  • I see a lot of shared sentiment on old vs new music these days. You don't know how right you are. With an industry that now only caters to whatever draws the most attention and money, the lack of ethics and good old-fashioned morals is astounding. Personally, society has become morally bankrupt. It can't be said any plainer than that. And I'd gladly go back 15-25 years, just to be back when things were just that much better than today. Peace, people.

  • "My paw says you're full of it."

My response: At least I don't shovel it like him, now piss off.

  • nice imagination cooooooooooll

  • nice imagination

  • Somebody to upload a better video than this one please? I love this song but rather a better quality of video.

  • I used to listen to song all the time when I was a kid. Great song.

  • i can't believe i found this!

  • I wish I could find this on Ares, all of the YT videos of this song have extra stuff in them so if I converted them it wouldn't just be the song. The only real copy I have of it is on tape...sucks.

  • The video is simplistic and frankly badly acted, but the song and story is terrific. As an actor, Kenny Rogers is a great singer.

  • THIS IS REAL COUNTRY....all that shit on the radio nowadays is BULLSHIT faggot fried garbage...Except for the Zac Brown Band...they rock

  • ok the video is poor quality by todays standards, but the song puts most contemporary stuff to shame

  • @skittification You got that right!!!!

  • I was born in texas so this is my favorite song of his.

  • Blond girl= My pa says you're full of it.

What Kenny should have said= At least I don't shovel it like your pa. Now, piss off.

  • @vigo894 LMAO!!! Your, comment made my week. :')

  • Good on you Kenny! A classic song! And to the one who said it was an embarrassment to Texas.. he made you whole state into 'the biggest place in outer space' ... I don't think it was meant to be disrespectful!

  • London, Paris, BUDAPEST!!!! Great! Thanks! Magyar vagyok!

  • OMG Kenny what were you smoking when you agreed to sing this song much less do a video of it ? I just watch the video, first time in 21 years and its more retarded than I remember. Hey Kenny I bet you regret this whole thing don't you?

  • This is one of the most stupid videos that have ever been made and an embarassment to the greatest state in America...period!!!

  • @texaskidzuk= Nice of you to tell us your opinion Mister Bieber. Now, if you don't like it, then, DON'T WATCH!

  • @vigo894 Hey dude take a pill or something I'm just making a comment OK? Better yet go have a cold lone star beer and everything will be alright!!!

  • @texaskidzuk= Yeah, sorry. I was in a bad mood at the time. This is a corny video.

  • Now we know where the concept for COWBOYS VS ALIENS came from...

  • Music can be fun too, you know

  • This really was his worse song, and the video didn't help either. Almost everything else he did was good to great.

  • Whatever! This is fucking genius. Horse's with laser eyeballs. Plus high tech special effects. What's not to love.

  • @glassdragonfly Agree. People just don't know what's good music anymore. I prefer the older stuff to new even though I'm only in my 20's. Today's music sucks..

  • @guitarbrittany31 You're right. It's all about the same thing, sex, drugs, women shaking their asses, this is back when life was good.

  • @troshs u hve reason

  • @troshs 1989 was an excellent year for great Rock and Pop music.

  • @jaworskij even today good songs are realeased ,

  • @guitarbrittany31 Well I admire your good taste in music. There is a world of GREAT music from the 60s and 70s that you must explore. I grew up in the 60s and witnessed the "British Invasion" firsthand when The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermits, Dave Clark 5, Hollies, Animals and other great acts from England topped the charts along with our own American artists. It truly was a magical time for music lovers, like me. Let me know if you want the names of other (and there are alot) artists

  • @guitarbrittany31 (continued) I will be glad to give you the names of other great artists so that you can listen to them on youtube and then decide for yourself if you like them or not and then maybe download them onto your Ipod or MP3 player. Thanks.

  • Now this is some real old school country sounds! Love the music!

  • I don't know that I'd call this art :-P

  • I remember when this video was first released. I think it was said that it cost like $500,000 to make it. It was well worth it. Incredible piece or art.

  • This is an awesome song, but does anyone else think of "Ghost Riders" By Johnny Cash, when they listen to this?

  • @serenity489 Exactly.
