Overdosing on nostalgia...this was one of the only games I could beat with one quarter in the arcade. I always used Charlotte...I'm from Charlotte, NC. She didn't have any good special moves, but she was fast and had great reach...sorta like Chun Li in SF2...And...where am I?...I'm 17 and weigh 155, right? What? Nostalgia...overdose...
Hello friend. What was the program that you used to record the video? I need to make a video about the Neo Geo CD, and am using the emulator neoraine with the Fraps recorder, but I can not write, because it appears only the audio. Whenever I used fraps to record games Neorage (Neo Geo AES / MVS), but the CD does not work.
@AndreNesman I mentioned in the comments that this video is a direct capture, so in other words it is the real hardware with a real copy of the game. As a rule I generally never capture from emulators. I use a Canopus capture card with Vegas editing software.
Great video game speed run. MAYNE do Charlette's legs look pretty in those go go boots that match her armor! :) It makes me feel so: happy, happy HAPPY!!!
@dEdGrimley The intention for those loading screens was to give an accurate look at how Samurai Shodown is on the Neo Geo CD, load times and all. This was a response to the Neo Geo CD Load Times vs. MVS vid I did a while back.
it doesn't load between rounds, the load before galford was quick... way better than I had thought, maybe the neo geo cd would be a good cheap option for samurai shodown 1 fan
how can you think that the cd version of Samurai Shodown 1 could be something for someone that wants it cheap when the AES cartridge version goes for 10 bucks...

hey fucking moron. i was talking about the game. but even the hardware is not that much more expensive. how much do you have to shell out for a AES? about 100 bucks. A cd-system about 50. And a CD system generally does not come with boards, only shitty pads. And fucking long loading times. If you have patience and search long enough you can get a Neo Geo AES cheap. it´s not the impossible to afford system. Never was. And many AES games today are as cheap as their cd versions. NG CD just sucks.
You damn retarded piece of shit, I never said the AES was impossible to afford. I said the Neo Geo CD is cheaper than the AES, and that's the truth, so the argument stands. The subject of the vid, Samurai Shodown 1, doesn't have long load times, my argument still stands. I never talked about other games.
BTW, you are so much of a touchy son of a bitch it's funny. I bet you sodomize yourself with an AES console everyday, and give free blowjobs to everyone who destroys their NG CD system.
my opinion just is why settle with shit when you can have much better quality for little more effort. in beatém ups loading times totally suck. for example: as much as i hate the n64 version of MK trilogy, i always prefer it over the more complete Playstation version because it has nearly no loading times. and i also hate NG cd sound. i was shocked when i heard Fatal Fury 3 for the first time. i loved the AES sound, the cd music starts so slow and before it gets going the fight is already over.
and you still have to explain to me how much cheaper the cd version of this game is compared to the aes version (game NOT hardware). and sorry to say it but if these load times are okay for you i can only speak for myself and call these load time a huge waste of time. when i play games i want to actually play and not watch a monkey play with his balls longer than i actually fight it out. damn i hate those load times. and many sound effects are also missing...
OMG Charlotte!!! *---------------*

There is no need to redo the music as it was great on the MVS original already.

The ball-throwing monkey is the highest-tier character in the game. Even Amakusa is no match for him.

UGH!!! Earthquake's stage music was much better on AES and MVS.

This may sound crazy, but the soundtrack sounded the best in the SNES version.

The load time for this game is not that bad.

Probably could've edited out the loading screens.

nice load screen...
(the ps1 load screen is was too long)

Honestly, the load times aren't that bad. Compared to say, King of Fighters '96, they are actually really fast.
Of course, I'm speaking as someone who owned the Sega CD version of Samurai Shodown when younger. Now those were load times.
TenchiFreak5 2 years ago
I had one of these. The worst game for load times was King of Fighters 95.
neoviper76 3 years ago
i bet you King of Fighters 99 had worse load times. or even Real Bout Special / 2

You Can Not Neo Geo CD On Those Games Supplies When You Think Of That Sharing The Games Excited
Good Job!
happyhannah27 3 years ago
this game has not long loading times, but the arranged music is not that awesome as the AES-MVS one, and the game lacks sounds.
Good vid !
