I understand that urge you feel, but eventually you just have to say "enough is enough." Every few years I force myself to quit playing video games. I quit again just a few months ago.

@omgomglame no, not really. hourly rate is around 3-5rmb/hr, but like for a whole night is only 5-10rmb. i think the problem is not about how bad online game is, is about how parents educate their kids. computer and internet is a great tool to help us study. most of parents in china consider computer is only a game station, any time kids touching the computer, they feel thats wrong. but they cant find a good way to talk to kids, their punishment make kids never want to obay any word they said.
Believe me, this is not a cure for the priveliged few. It is a rich mans disease. If you have been to china you will know that most chinese don't have the liesure time for this kind of bummery.

Speaking as a previous (only a few days "clean") internet addict, I am having "withdrawals." I literally blocked the entire internet except for 10 webpages. The only reason I still have youtube is to help me adjust to a life (basically) void of internet.
U sound intelligent & I understand this sounds ridiculous, but the internet IS addictive. I agree it has to do with self-control though (thus why i blocked the internet. I dont have much self-control XD)

Some people have a variation of obsessive compulsive disorder in which case it doesn't matter what the focus of your "addiction" is, will power does not enter into it. I'm a compulsive hoarder and always will be. The only reason I'm not buried in garbage now is because I monitor my own behavior constantly. If I start accumulating trash, it's not because I lack the willpower to clean, it's because I get anxiety from throwing things away.
I understand your point, although I think psychological addiction and OCD have a strong relation, and in cases could even be considered the same thing. It's good you have control of your hoarding though. I get anxious if I can't use the computer...the only reason I haven't blocked my access to youtube from my computer yet is so I can ease my way out of my addiction. >__> I too get anxious. @serenecelene, if you have a compulsion to be online, it's probably because you need an excuse to be inside all day because you're afraid of the world or you have obsessive compulsive disorder and the focus of your compulsion is masturbation and you need to watch pornography online as an excuse. You might also be a digital hoarder who needs to accumulate data and programs compulsively. In any of those cases you need some level of outside help.
I hardly ever watch porn, and don't accumulate programs nor data, although I completely agree that my problem stemmed from a fear of the world. I have such high expectations for myself that I guess I was trying to escape.
I also agree about the outside help. I obv. lack self control, so I used a program which makes it so I can only view certain websites (such as youtube XD).

Speaking as a previous (only a few days "clean") internet addict, I am having "withdrawals." I literally blocked the entire internet except for 10 webpages. The only reason I still have youtube is to help me adjust to a life (basically) void of internet.
U sound intelligent & I understand this sounds ridiculous, but the internet IS addictive. I agree it has to do with self-control though (thus why i blocked the internet. I dont have much self-control XD)

@serenecelene wrong, addiction is only physical. Some people have a variation of obsessive compulsive disorder in which case it doesn't matter what the focus of your "addiction" is, will power does not enter into it. I'm a compulsive hoarder and always will be. The only reason I'm not buried in garbage now is because I monitor my own behavior constantly. If I start accumulating trash, it's not because I lack the willpower to clean, it's because I get anxiety from throwing things away.

I understand your point, although I think psychological addiction and OCD have a strong relation, and in cases could even be considered the same thing. It's good you have control of your hoarding though. I get anxious if I can't use the computer...the only reason I haven't blocked my access to youtube from my computer yet is so I can ease my way out of my addiction. >__> I too get anxious. @serenecelene, if you have a compulsion to be online, it's probably because you need an excuse to be inside all day because you're afraid of the world or you have obsessive compulsive disorder and the focus of your compulsion is masturbation and you need to watch pornography online as an excuse. You might also be a digital hoarder who needs to accumulate data and programs compulsively. In any of those cases you need some level of outside help.

I hardly ever watch porn, and don't accumulate programs nor data, although I completely agree that my problem stemmed from a fear of the world. I have such high expectations for myself that I guess I was trying to escape.
I also agree about the outside help. I obv. lack self control, so I used a program which makes it so I can only view certain websites (such as youtube XD).
You know...you really helped me realize WHY I was addicted to the internet. I never realized the reason. Thank you!!! :)

Well in America almost everything we eat is either loaded with High Fructose Corn Syrup or Sodium or both. We live in white bread and corn syrup. Soda and Potatoes. It's another result of a culture with no concept of nutrition even though it's the culture most obsessed with health in the world.

This addiction always seems to stem from social issues, and as is said at 5:53, when you can't have fun in the outside world, you lock yourself in the virtual one. You gotta solve the problem by thinking outside the box, sometimes.
