@kimmr100 It still almost makes me cry to see how much Julio, the creator of this song, is in love with Ray's orchestration. The trumpet player is Zeke Zarchy, a maestro. The Wonder of Ray's sound is that he never 'had' his own orchestra. They were always just a group thrown together for the gig at hand. But they were mostly the same studio musicians, & mostly the best in the business, who'd drop almost anything else to be part of Ray's orchestra of the moment. Ray was a musical wizard! chuck

I just got off the phone with a Bert Kaempfert fan in Belgium. Kaemfert used studio musicians as well, no real orchestra, although he was often guest conductor of the Germna RIAS orchestra. But think of the performances as a scheduled poker or bridge evening - none of the serious players would dare miss attending!
