  • nice job on this video, usually when people record their monitors eating the quality sucks. my monitor always drags his worms across the ground too, i think it's hella cute haha.

  • No, a black throat monitor is called Varnaus Albigularis. An acanthurus is a spiny tailed monitor.

  • is a acanthurus a black throat or totally different cuz it looks very similar to one??

  • Actually, I have no idea. My acanthurus is tame but my exanthematicus is not. She is very feisty. I took her in my home because someone else couldn't take care of her anymore. She is a bit too small I gues and I only have her for a few months, so I am still letting her get used to me and my home. But I do know that acanthurus are generaly more easy to handle than a exanthematicus.

  • Probably how it was raised at the beginning, which determines how they eventually act.

That and the individually factor that each monitor has.

My Savannah monitor was picked from the store because he was the one who went for the store workers fingers (that and the fact he looked exactly like a raptor).

Took me 1 week to get him tame, and now hes so docile.

  • you seem to have both acanthurus and exanthematicus..could you comment on which one is easier to tame? how tame is your exanthematicus..? i have only heard that acanthurus is very lively and easy to tame so how about exanthematicus.?
