  • I filmed my first schindler MT on Friday at a JcPenny's it should be up sometime today

  • Impressive.

  • That chime is WAY out of tune!

  • Yes, it's too high pitched.

  • Oh. Because it looked like some pretty employee type equipment.

  • Why do the have 4 unlocked? It says "Employees Only". Why don't they just have a keyhole?

  • Well now, they have a keypad that locks off the 4th floor.

  • All I could say is that this is an unusual floor setup.

  • That elevator is located at Port of miami Cruise terminal C

  • Thanks for the location.

  • The reason it is set like that is because 4 is a concourse that leads to a boarding area with all 4 floors. If you look of Bing maps, look at the westernmost terminal

  • Interesting, but I guess it's reminescent of the old Co-Op, since it now has offices and storage.

  • I remember riding a schindler elevator similar to this, Mainly because it had an unusual floor layout. It went like this:

    4-Rear

    (skips 3)

    2-front

    *G-front

  • Also, it listed G as 1 and 4 as 3

  • I think they could in the controller, since it's a digital indicator. With square/round lens multi-light, they can replace the lenses with different floors. But with vandal resistant, they're on their own with getting a new faceplate, since they're engraved.

  • Is there way that Schindler can reprogram those floors?

  • Yes, but they can vary in pitch, and they can be adjusted to the customer's needs.

  • that MT bell is a pretty high pitch.

  • Yes, that is the only thing I don't like about Schindler elevators. Also, they use one color for both arrows on their lanterns, and the door close button doesn't work. Otherwise, they make nice, high quality elevators, that I do like.

  • nice video!! Schindler for some reason is my least favourite brand of elevator. the thing that annoys me the most about them specificly hydraulic. the floor indicator is a floor ahead of itself. it changes before the hydraulic fluid even hits the ram.

  • This used to be a Dover elevator with some Otis parts in the old UT Co-Op, and then it became Schindler when Barnes & Noble moved in. Then they moved out, but the Schindler elevator is still here.

  • what did this elevator used to be?

  • Because it took forever levelling down, but it did open.

  • captain elevator if you have ever seen any of my videos im sorry about the crappy quality this christmas im getting a new camera and im going to delete all my videos and refilm and reupload all of them when i get a chance i only have three elevator videos and they are all of dover elevators

  • Yes, I did see the rear door, and only opens on the ground/mezzanine floors. That's why I looked at the back of the elevator.

  • Nice elevator, did that elevator have a rear door because when you were loking at the back of the elevator you could see a door or something but nice video

  • No, I didn't get in trouble, but the lights are 2-bulb wall mounted fixtures, and I think they should have it on the center of the ceiling, or have 2 lights: Front & Back.

  • The lighting is horrendously bad.

  • Did you get in trouble for going to a private floor?

  • Yes, that would be level MZ, with the art supplies and gallery located there.

  • The West Building is the flagship store on the Drag, across from the main campus, and the East Building is the annex building.

  • i dint think the door was going to open on level g

  • What's the difference between the UT Co-Op West and East?

  • Yes, I have recorded it.

  • Level B is served by another elevator that travels only 2 floors: Basement & Ground.

  • Can you reocrd that one?

  • It has been recorded. The name is "Dover Elevator at the UFCU Drag Branch."

  • Where's B?

  • Well, 3 was once the right, and the mezzanine led to the rear door, but then they inverted the buttons, instead of changing out the number plates, and labelled them as 1, 1R, 2, 3, 4.

  • Then how is 3 on the left instead of the right?

  • Actually this elevator goes up 4 floors, and here is the floor directory:

    *G-Ground front (Main floor).

    GR-Ground rear (Loading dock).

    2-Second floor (Clothing level).

    MZ-Mezzanine (Art gallery).

    3-Third floor (Employees only).

  • No. It's located on the rear ground floor (GR), so it can let the staff access that floor/direction.

  • The displayed buttons include B, *G, 2, 3, and MZ.

  • Well the floor indicator is as follows:

    B, 1, 2, 3, 4.

As with the button panel, here it is:

    B, *G, GR, 2, MZ, 3.

  • But 3 is 2nd to last. Can I have the order of the DISPLAYED buttons?

  • Can you tell me the order of the floors in the building as well as the order of the indicated floors on the indicator?

  • Because of the way it's setup, if you get off lvl 2, send it to lvl 1 and get in the hoistway, you can gain access to lvl 3 :-D

  • The same thing goes with the UT Austin Burdine Hall elevators, with one elevator defaulted to 1, the other to the basement. Also, the buzzer has adjustable pitch, so that's why it's kind of high pitched.

  • I have to continue to a second comment. The elevator at the far left and defaulted to the foyer. Foyer=Lobby. Button is F. The one at the far right, the only elevator with a rear opening is sometimes defaulted to the foyer.

  • Actually, the Schindler Signal fixtures are as follows:

HT-Standard fixtures with black Lexan faceplates.

    MT-Contemporary fixtures with rectangular buttons.

GT-Classic fixtures with oval, surface mounted faceplates.

    VT-Vandal resistant for tough duty.

    CT-Custom fixtures for one-of-a-kind projects.

  • VT does not equal vandal-resistant. Vandal resistant is HT Vandal-Resistant.

MT is not correct either. MT is HT Premium. You also forgot Schindler's HXpress, which is a fixture modernization option for mid to high-rise buildings.

  • I think HT is the new schindler model check out my boscoves elevator at clearview mall

  • It is.

  • Actually, the 2 stop Dover Elevator goes to the basement, and I also video recorded that one.

  • like why do elevators go to the bottom sometimes when no one calls it or sends it down?

  • It's programmed into the system. Here are 3 examples.

    1. Wegman's at Whalen Road: The left elevator is defaulted to Level 1 and the right elevator is defaulted to Level 2.

    2. Kate Gleason Residence Hall at RIT. The left is defaulted to the 3rd floor and the right is defaulted to the 5th floor to speed up traffic on both the upper and lower sections of the residence.

    3. Guestroom elevators at Hyatt Regancy in Montreal. GUESTROOMS. There are also elevators to the underground mall and the valet.

  • Dude, you go to RIT? I used to go there! :-D

  • no what I mean is its not programeds to do that but what I mean is it automaticly goes to the lowest floor after about 5 minets when no on uses it it could be rest mode but I your thinking of peak mode when the elevator is sent to the floor its set to and the door stays open til some one gets in or calls it

  • how come when you get to the top the up arrow turns to down before the door opens? another thing is when I was at a hotel in florida I got in the elevator at the 4th floor didnt press the button to see what would happen it started to go down then when it was a littel bit passed 2 it stoped and went back up adn yesterday at boscoves the elevator was coming down when it got to the buttom the door didnt open I pressed the button it opende and no one was in it

  • I thought you pressed 3 and it went to 4?

  • I started on G, since the basement contains storage, and is locked off. Also, those are the MT Series Contemporary fixtures, which are still made today, and rival with the ThyssenKrupp Impulse fixtures.

  • what are MT seres I thought that this is the FX serise snd when are they going to create somthing other than HT serise what do you think will be next I was hopeing they create classic fixtures and do they still make this one that you rode here?

  • they still make this kind?

  • Yes, they do, but on special order.

  • Is there a mezzanine level in this building?

  • Did you start on B or G?

  • Well, Levels B, 1, 2, and 4 open on the front, while levels G and 3 (MZ) open on the rear opening.

  • This is confusing. Can you tell me the exact order of the floors and what side they will open on?

  • Why not MZ?

  • One of musicfreakcc's videos has buttons of "P1, P2, P3 and ML" but it does 1,2,3,4. I think they do that to avoid confusion.

  • My library elevator goes B 1 2R 2 for the buttons the indecator goes 1 2 3 4 thats weird because it used to go B 1 2R 2 on the indecator when the library was renovated the elevator was modernized its the same elevator but I will get a video some day maby next week

  • Although it's Schindler Brand, this Tx series sounds different than the standard one. Probably when they got the elevator, they want to customize the fixture.

  • But sometimes, that can occur with any elevator brand.

  • And the buzzer is occasionally a bit messed up due to age.

  • great elevator video i know otis has the special numbers on the indicators wierd schindler doesnt

  • First view! Yeah! Thanks!
