This isn't to far off from actual multiplayer gameplay. Terran generally pwn anything that moves, even if it is four infinitely-old mechanized Protoss guardians who shoot laser beams out of their eyes.
Meh... they should do that for all games, but they won't because they help their buddies, the computer companies, make more money if their computers demand high performance.
In Warcraft 3 (Also made by blizzard) you could set resolution and quality settings to improve performance so if SC2 you can't I would be mad because I don't have a really good computer too
I read several times in the forums that there are levels of detail for the graphics quality based on what machine you are using. So yes, your old computer will run sc2 just fine.
yeah i think this will be okay...you'll probably have to play on low settings, which from what i've read on the forums, does not have normal or specular maps...so the game probably looks a little PS2ish. So if you want the full experience, i'd save up and buy a better computer or upgrade your ram, cpu, and graphics card.
The blizzard team is intentionally making low settings for people with bad computers because south korea is the "StarCraft Playing" country, and many of the people there that play the original don't have very god computers.

if SC2 wants shader version 3.0 I'm screwed
psycho642 2 years ago
i'm pretty sure it does for high settings. not too sure if it degrades to 2.0 or 2.1 for low and med settings...best of luck with that!

wow this game looks AWESOME!
Too bad I don't have a computer nearly powerful enough to play it...
and I also was never very good at the original Starcraft, could never really hot-key stuff. lol

There should be an option to make the quality and screen resolution to make it be playable on older/less powerful computers

I dunno... I'm running an iBook G4, with half a gig of memory, and a 4th birthday coming up... I'm still running Mac OS 10.4.10! lol
But seriously... given that, do you think my computer could play this game?

What about a macbook? They've got 2 gigs of ram, and a better processor... also run 10.6.
