Why the hell is the aerial ladder being positioned like that? It should either be located at one of the exposure windows or, even more logically, on the roof of one of the exposure buildings (delta?) in order to vent the roof of the fire building since it's a top floor fire in Class 3 structure, especially!. What GOES?
@gjdagis The roof man probably went up through the exposure. That's SOP; it goes 1) building adjoining 2) 1st due aerial 3)2nd due aerial. But it can be problematic if the exposure has no access to the roof in which case the roof man gives a transmission to let the 2nd due roof know he has to find another way up. The aerial is up there to allow the outside vent man to enter and search that room.
