1:11 to 1:42 That is what I have said my whole life. Now don't get me wrong, I do release some of the smaller fish but, why would anybody spend that much money to watch the darn things swim away!

@jtschid0910 dont take this the wrong way but i jus bought my brand knew bass cat puma ftd and i have my big dodge mega cab and you guys are all about y spend the money because its what i love to do i spend money on my boat so i can go 87 mph on the delta or on the lake haveing a boat is more than you expect.....when you own a boat and start fishing tournaments youll understand there is a brother hood beyond what people see....so dont judge till you ride and fish outa a bass boat

what is the best bait for crappie, other than minnows? there is a lake near my house that i know for a fact has crappie, but I have NOWHERE i can go to buy minnows. I can get nightcrawler, wax worms, red worms, berkley powerbait and a wide range of plastics. Any advice? Spring is near and i want to get out there early this year but i just don't have access to minnows

@jumar1281 go to wal-mart or order on-line some crappie jigs some of the best colors is black and chartreuse and red and charteuse...but you can try any color you want or what works in your area

@jumar1281 i'm more of an artificial man b/c minnows can run out fast and its really annoying when the crappie are hitting left to right. so for me i like using red heads and green tails.

@jumar1281 Dont get fooled into the certain fish only like certain things. Fish eat to survive just like we do. I have seen the biggest fish eat the smallest worms. Even silly things like Hot Dogs, Corn, baloney, etc etc. All of those things you mentioned will work for crappies. Things that mimic minnows may work better because that is their main food source, but dont think you cant catch them on plastics and nightcrawlers.

If you want to catch big crappie just use the original floating minnow by rapala. Nice fish you are catching there Tim.

Nothing like those secret spots. I have a farm pond in Beaver Dam Nother carolina with a few ponds on it like this.

these crappie are small, but then again, i fish for crappie in toledo bend in 30' deep water on the trees. Never fished for crappie in a pond before.

i have the banjo minnow... and yes they do work for bigger fish like bass/walleye/pike... but do not really work for small fish, the banjow minnow is just too big
