@proudfemale, do you think similar statement can be made to african men,western men and south east asian men and to African men, western women and south east asian women? Isn't there a constant discrimination of men over women EVERYWHERE in the world and with different degrees of discrimination and women retaliates against each other too often. The ideology DOES matter if it gives men divine authority over women and men see it as their right to treat women shabbily. Most especially if that ideology is the basis for the law of the land which legally allows rape, murder and violence toward women. True, individuals ultimately decide their own behavior, but if their religion and laws condone misogyny, it leaves women unprotected and at the mercy of abusers.
