The flashes are the radioactivity. It says that radiation cannot be spelt yet in its masses it smells like ozone (just before it rains). In its masses, it looks like flashes of light in a camera and sometimes it loses some pixels. Then in its masses it can hurt you. You feel sick, and nausea. Your head aches and later your skin goes. Then you die.

Only short addition. The flashes on this film of Mihail Nazarenko are really unique. Some scientists from the Institute of nuclear physics unsuccessfully have tried to repeat them when they made the attacks on the film by the radioactive particles.

The matter is, that at once after Chernobyl accident in an atmosphere of Pripyat there was a huge quantity of many radioactive elements (almost all table of Mendeleyev), many of them created new connections, which to create artificially impossibly. Just such connections irradiated this film at the moment of the filming...

Sorry for the delay in answering! My friend died of heart failure (heart attack), like most victims of Chernobyl. By the way, and cardiovascular diseases are leading cause of death of chernobyl’tzev (near the cancer).
