I first heard this track off the Queen album back in 1978 and this performance has a whole new slant. Freddie and Roger are equal but different IMHO. It's a big shame this video has never seen the light of day -I believe there was plans for the whole concert to have been released as a Live album back in about 1975-sadly it never happened. And whilst all the studio albums have been re released 'remastered' with some very dubious choices of bonus tracks, this gem is languishing. WHY?
Where's the love for Roger's voice, you guys? Freddie may be my favorite singer of all time, but you gotta admit...Roger gives this song a grit and fierceness that only he can. Aw hell, I love em both!
God. Freddie has an amazing tenor voice. Not that special until you consider all the high notes and especially the incredibly low notes he hit in the harmony parts on Queen songs.
Kingb2....I'm with you! I would prefer Freddie's singing over Everybody's !! Roger's great on backup...but, let's face it, backup is where he should remain.
Freddie's got the BEST damn voice on the planet - ever -!!
SigandGibbs.....Then you haven't heard Freddie's version of '39, obviously! It is SO much better!!! Freddie's voice is the best and he could sing Anything!! He's great at any kind of singing; he's got the best voice ever!
rockisheaven....just read your comment....cool. Freddie's still got the best damn voice in the universe though! But Roger.....well, there's no better backup than him! He's really the best at that.
This is from 8 months before the VHS version. The VHS version is compiled from both nights, much like Montreal. This was the last song played, before it was replaced by Lap Of The Gods Revisited, which in turn was replaced by We Are The Champions.
I believe that this was from a different night than the VHS version. But then again the VHS version is composed of different nights (that's what I heard anyways)
