By now you would have thought ALL CARS TODAY would kind of look like that. In other words, EXTREMELY EXTREMELY EXTREMELY AERODYNAMIC!!! Then just put in a diesel engine, perhaps a Mercedes 5cyl diesel, the ones from the mid 80's or that e320cdi diesel. Then the car would get like 100mpg. That Stratos car cuts through the air like a knife, a sharp knife I might add.

That it just about the weirdest looking driving experience i can think of, one of the most inpracticle cars i can think of, but one of the greatest un-made prototypes of all time. This is much better than a Gtbycitroen or or lamborghini miura bertone. My favorite prototype.

Thank you! This is the first video I've found that sheds light into how you get in and out of the vehicle. That would get old fast. The other nightmare would be trying to pull out in traffic. The thing had no apparent way for a driver to see 90 degrees to the left or right. A wild design, but a challenge as a daily driver.

@rojurisic well, the italians made cars that looked nice, but are useless for everyday use. the germans make cars that are not only usable everyday, but you dont want to get out of your SL500, SL AMG6.3, M3, M5, RS4, RS6, S8.... those people i know who own ferrari or a maserati use it in good weather only, very limited amount of milage, because every 1000 miles something breaks and at 20000 miles you can throw them away because there are no parts available anymore...

It was Gandini's designs like this Stratos Zero, the Alfa Carabo that preceded it and the Countach that came after it that truly changed the face of supercars forever.

If you're at all into electronica music, whether that be trance, rave, jungle or whatever, you should bow to the composer of the music in this video! This is one of the compositions of Jean Michel Jarre, the Grandaddy of electronic music. He paved the way. I can't remember whether this is from the Equinoxe or Oxygene albums but it's definitely from one of the two. Learn your history boy.
