My best friend,KJ,only knows this song because of me! Whenever I'm feeling down he'll say,"Just remember I love you it will be alright!" God knows that I love him too!
I love this song the words are awesome I heard this on the radio at Mcdonals and it has been in my head all day. I know times have changed and this sort of music is concidered "not cool" but you know what back then the artiist could sing a song that meant something and always made you feel good after hearing the song.
I'd rather tell my wife/girlfriend the lyrics of this song than Michael Jackson's Beat It. Where has all the longing love for women brought to the world in song gone to?
Yeah, but you shouldn't have to search. It should just be there when you turn on the radio like it used to be. And that's what is so great about back then. It was all special and honestly in my opinion even the cheesiest of songs had some soul in them. And I do listen to alternative music now to get what I need but it's not the same, it pales in comparison, a certain magic is missing. I really do believe that.
82, sometimes memories is all that we have in this world, but thank God for them! No one can take them from us can they? Gr8at tune, absolutely wonderful music.
The other night I was at John Martin's open mic in Coral Gables Florida, and the guy who wrote/ sang this played it for a mere 20 people. We were blown away. He was so unpretentious and grateful to just play and sing his beautiful songs.
This song was put up on my birthday :] my 11th birthday :L Im 12 now. This song inspires me, My dad has been through so much shizz. With cancer and Divorce and stuff he needs to remember I love him.
Firefall hit #11 in Billboard, 11-19-77. Sure wish Rick Roberts would come back to the band. Doesn't sound as good without him there. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
This song is so special and magic that it hurts. And it's still somehow kinda layed-back and relaxing. Such a total package and nailer! Out-of-the-park, out of the Universe. It's impossible to create a song more perfect.
In '79 i was walking/hitch-hiking a lot of the East coast, and this group had such a profound spirit to their songs we're all so fortunate to know. The sandy stinking Fort Lauderdale strip really comes to mind,..
One of the prettiest love songs ever made! It does have country twist and if I were to hear this remade, I would love to see Rascal Flatts tackle it due to the harmony
This Firefall song could easily pass as a Jefferson Starship song w/Marty Balin singing. It just has the same Frisco sound as "With Your Love", "Miracles", "Runaway" or "St. Charles."
It's funny & even sad how we went from great soft rock like Billy Joel, Wings, America, Nick Lowe, Carole King, Fleetwood Mac, Al Stewart, Todd Rundgren, LRB, Ambrosia, Firefall, Player, 10cc, Gary Wright, Gerry Rafferty, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, Paul Simon & James Taylor to very depressing soft rock from today like Coldplay, Maroon 5, Adele, Avril Lavigne, Colbie Caillat, Mat Kearney, Keane, Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Corrine Bailey Rae, Duffy, Katy Perry, Amy Winehouse, etc.
@bucky468 i agree with you amigo. but the times they change and so does the music. i spend hours on youtube looking for those old hits. besides, im pretty sure back then the old folks like us were saying" ah, i remember the glen miller band, bing crosby, etc. now its this depressing stuff like billy joel, wings, america, etc. keep listening my friend...

It doesn't matter what era it might be just listening to the words says just how life can be and how we hope for something better, amazingly this song came out in a time when disco was cool, in Australia we didn't hear much of Firefall as the Eagles and Chicago were big but today I feel I missed out on what is a great band. Firefall has a new fan :)
@renecrod3 i was born march16,1962 .the music back then was so much better then this crap out here today.wish i had a time machine to go back to 1977 oh that would be so cool.
@SIGNALSTAT I was born in Jan 1960, you are so right on the music. TV was great then too. In 1977, I had a 1976 Pontiac Grand Le Mans. Pontiac made some good looking cars in the 60s and 70s. I too wish you had a time machine so I could drive my Pontiac again. Had factory 8 track.... 8 tracks wow.....Bewitched with the beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery, my childhood crush, she was a babe.
@1969pontiac1 Hey your right that was the good old days .yea man in 1977 i got my first 76 ford mustang2 cool little car had the 302 v8 who cared gas was 49.9 a gallon .i remember changing the am fm radio to a 8 track also.would give anything to go back yea elizabeth montgomery sure was a babe back in the 60s.my mom had a 76 pontiac grandprix with the 400 4 barrel car was real fast.anyway take care glad to see someone who feels the way i do about the past.
@IamLisaYo Hi lisa glad you enjoy the music.the 70s had some cool stuff.only thing now is im getting old .i wish i could go back to the 70s and stay i was like 15 when this firefall song came out.
@SIGNALSTAT There is just as much excellent music today as there was in our youth . . . the only thing that has changed is that you stopped looking . . .stopped filtering . . . when we are young we don't even realize we are doing this, we don't remember the mountains of shitty music we sifted through to find the gems, because all we are left with, for the most part, are the gems. It is the same story with each new generation.
@ballsackbillie No . . . I just love music and I didn't happen to do what most people do after their mid to late 20s . . . which is give up searching for good music. You have become your parents . . . just as your parents before you became their parents and so on . . . We are older now . . . and most older people do exactly what you see in so many posts here . . . they let themselves grow old and miss out on a LOT of incredible music. I could give you a long list of great music if you'd like.
Positively wistful. I listen to songs like these and it puts me right in touch with the part of me that's timeless, that never changes, that loves easily... that bright-eyed kid.
