@oooshitman9 Takeo wouldn't have been a starter this season had he stayed in SF. Navarro Bowman is lined up to be the new ILB alongside Willis this year. Takeo still wants to play and when you couple that with the supposed 'lukewarm' interest from SF to re-sign him, he got the hint pretty quick that they wearn't interested in bringing him back so he moved on to San Diego where he can be an impact player.

But whatever, you go on and stick to your simple "it was money" point of view.

@Krypton88 Bowman wouldn't have been a starter unless Spikes left. Spikes wasn't there for the money, he wanted multiple years, and SF didn't think he was worth a three year deal; he IS getting old. SF felt it was fine to let him go because we have Bowman, who's looking in pretty good shape. Spikes said himself a while back there was a good chance he'd return to SF.

I wish you well Spikes, you were a great Linebacker for us and you made us one of the most formidable "middle of the fields" the league had to offer. My favorite memory of you is when you and Patrick Willis both played with broken arms in that Charger game. I loved this memory because both of you had clubs on the same arm, and it proved how much heart you two had for our team and how tough you two really are, despite us getting crushed. Youre a class act and I wish you the best.
