The most in-depth review that I've seen, thanks. I just ordered the pn50c550 600hz 1080p 2,000,000.1 contrast ratio o.o1 ms. I can't wait till it comes on teusday.
I bought the 50" version of this TV last week. So far, I hate to admit, but I'm not that impressed. I see lots of motion blur, even on the HD channels. I bought plasma to enjoy sports. But hockey and basketball have been annoying to watch, because the players blur. Motionless pictures look great, especially close ups. Perhaps I have a weak cable signal causing this? I'm going to buy a bluray over the weekend, to see if that picture has motion blur as well, If so, I may have to return tv
I got a question. It is not very important but does the Samsung Logo illuminate in white? Did you turn it off? I will buy this TV in a month. I was an LCD person but found out that plasmas are better bc they provide tube TV like black levels and they have a burn in protection. From now on, I will go with Plasma TVs...
I dont think you can change it, if you havent already figured it out. Most game settings set it to default 60hz because it provides a constant visual 'vysnc'
I got this one for $680 and think it's a steal. Watch Planet Earth on this on blueray w/ this and you'll be like "OMG this is Awesome!"
I can't believe that 720 would be any better w/ what I saw on a good blue ray movie. Some blue ray movies look grainy no matter what HD tv you're using. I first bought a 1080 120hz lcd, and it looked crappy compared to this 720 plasma. Don't believe the hype...
It really depends on how far you sit from the display...At 42", between a 720p set and a 1080p set, and lets say 9 feet away...There wouldn't be a difference in resolution to the eye, move up closer like 3 feet away from the display and there will be. Anyways, how are the black levels, motion and Color on this display? It does have 600hz right? .I still have a hard time giving up my CRT because of its amazing color, perfect motion and fantastic blacks ;p And I'd want this for the Wii and Bluray
Thumbs up ffor this Plasma tv...I own it & i love it....Friends..PLasmas are way better than LCDs...

How would you compare this to the Panasonic X1 42"? I can't decide between the two.

Great review, thanks, dude! One question though: what about the phosphor lag? is it less noticable than on panasonic plasmas?
And: Is the black level on this one comparable to a panny?
