  • has there ever been a bigger asshole to win the main event? even hellmuth isnt as bad

  • hot to be a donk and win over 12 M $

  • What you guys dont realize is that they only show like 5-10 % of the hands.....he probabllly played smart and they showed the hands where people got lucky..or people hit big hands....

  • @MrStarkst

isnt every winning hand "lucky"?..................people seem to believe that "skill" is involved.

  • that phone call at the end gets me everytime :' )

  • Jamie Gold the luckiest man in the world in 2006

  • Chris Moneymaker, Jerry Yang, and Joe Cada were all people that I really didn't enjoy watching them win and I felt they were very lucky. Jamie Gold is not one of those people. He played the psychological game more then any other player and really made the main event interesting. To this day he's beaten out the biggest ever poker tournament in the history of the world. Of course anyone who does that had to have been lucky many times, but he also induced every mistake from his opponents.

  • anybody who watched the whole main event cant deny that he waz the luckiest winner of all time

  • teh only thing this guy got goin for him is his mouth hopefully one day i play him cuz i play in headphones

  • don't like his mom

  • Have you guys heard about the new referral code? No? Well go f*** yourself.

  • props to jamie for winning, but there is no doubting that he is a first class asshole at times.

  • @armwood2010 but I love ''assholes'' like that who ''talk trash'' but always back it up with his winnings & at times ending up winning it all like he did here. Jamie's got balls to say the least!

  • it's scary that there is no wife or girlfriend there to hug Jamie Gold after his win. just his mom.

  • 0:18 "hopefully I get a little lucky" LOL

  • This was my favorite wsop main event. Jamie Gold was awesome. Yes he got lucky at times...DUH.. it's poker we all get lucky at times! Gold distroyed this main event! He played REAL POKER like a champion, he played the way the game was disigned to be played-with your wits. BEST WINNER EVER!!!

  • сучарище

  • Jamie Gold , Lord of the Donks

  • Since when did "all right, you talked me into it" mean "call"?

  • It's beautiful how he outplayed, even when he had simple draws, or nothing at all, the so called pros

Last hand, the most horrible call of all

  • jamie is like a salesman trying to sell his hand.

gotta respect his determination but honestly he just gives me a sleazy feeling, like I just got cheated out of something. Im sure everyone at the final table felt that way too.

  • look at the fat guy behind jamie gold hahahahahhahahahahahaha:P

  • @midget4ra and now what? is it your father or what?

  • what a loud mouth donkey

  • I'm sat here astonished at how many times the best hand held up going to the river. If Gold had had the night of rivers I'd had on PokerStars he f***ing kill himself.

  • that golds the biggest dick ever. i would have loved 4 him 2 lose that last hand

  • @KianAlexina

it was a joke you fucking prick ??

do u know what a joke is prick ???

want me to tell you what a joke is you fucking retarded clown ???

  • Wasicka: "I think you're on a draw, you talked me into it" *Standing up*

    Gold: "You gonna call?"

Wasicka *Shakes yes and shows cards*

    Gold: "Yes yes yes"

  • respect on jamie gold

  • my ass he did call dude he said "iguess u talked me into it"? wtf does thatmean, that means he calls. who the fuck would say "iguess u talked me into it" and then fold? wtf idiots...

  • Nothing against Jamie Gold, but he is the biggest luckbox I have ever seen.

  • there are 6:56 mr chan says there is only one 10 in the deck....

hmmmm im thinking there are two 10's in the deck.

maybe he knows something we don't.

  • @sepul071200 Chan was referring to the fact that there is only one card Paul can catch to win. He needs a 10 on the River, thats it, Chan didn't rig the deck so that Gold would win.

How often do you play poker???

  • During an iterview wasika said he never said call but was to ambarassed to call the floor because he was soo young but he would have probably won that argument

  • Wasilka never said call

  • @tommytwox jamie asked "you call?" and wasicka shook his head meaning "yes" but no he never said call but he kinda did

  • @tommytwox so...

  • jesus christ...they couldn't color gold up? he has an army of chips.

  • Jamie isnt a total donk, just a slightly better than average player who ran really fucking good...like God if you will.He used his "lucky image" to run over the entire table and get people to tighten up and made them much more predictable.

I think if he was more humble after his win and actually improved on his game he would get more respect from his peers, but he acts like an idiot so pros look at him like a dork...but hey with 12mil who needs to make friends with people who dont like you

  • Ok everyone is ragging on Jamie, I don't even like him that much either but reality check is that his ability to manipulate his opponents into callings when behind or folding when ahead was actually quite brillant, give the guy a bit of credit in that department, plus all we see is the edit version of poker, sure you have to run good, but you can make final table of 100% running well you still have to play good poker!

  • Gold was good for poker cause it proved even a huge fish can win. Esp. in donkaments. In cashgames they always go broke in the end. Always.

  • Although it appears that Gold got incredibly lucky (and even if he did) the tv only shows the good hands and i bet he folded more hands and a lot of hands weren't ''worthy'' of tv time.

I have to admit Gold's talk at the table was amazing!! I can see the whole cards and i'd probably still call him on some hands there...haha.

Would've liked to have seen heads up go on longer and wasicka double up once or twice...

  • 1:22 look at his chip stack then look over to Paul Wasicka.. ANIMAL

  • 12 mill SHIPP ITT

  • Rofl look at jamie's stack holy shit

  • Will Gamie Gold be long forgotten as a poker player in a few years?

  • @Struckgold well he always be in history for winning one of the greatest amount.

  • @Struckgold

Yes. Although I do give him respect for winning the WSOP, he will never be a poker legend. He's always losing on HSP too, and every pro thinks he's a donk. But oh well, he won 12M, so I guess I can't hate on em..

  • that paul guy is too full of himslf....

  • never seen anyone get any luckier but hey atleast well know golds future kids wont have any diseases just a shit load of $

  • Jamie is a nice guy "you played awesome".

I dont know why everyone picks on him hes not great but hes good.

  • i dont blame paul for his call his 10s might have been good but give jamie credit his loose image got him that call. btw he kept with his tell of telling the truth about his hand paul failed to pick up on that and was just satisfied with finishing 2nd seemed like.

  • i love my dad too jamie

  • I love u i love u i love u .... ohh now you love me Xd

  • at 3:40 u can watch golds hand while he is eating, he is shaking very much :)

  • How can you say he is not a good player. Jamie is very good.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sendarian1 it actually is real money

  • yes.

  • jamie gold is a wise player..but not a good poker player...

  • You guys should see him playing at the WSOPE 2007... he's a monster.

I'm just going to say that he isn't 3rd in All Time Money List for nothing and that he doesn't trash tralk for nothing.

  • poker!

  • at the end did he throw a stack of money into the crowd?

  • he told the truth the whole tournament and then in the last hand he lies. good setup ... all credit.

  • @vidurk When did Gold lie on the last hand? He admitted that his hand was good, but not great. When Wasicka said he thought Gold was on a draw Gold neither confirmed nor denied it.

  • @vidurk jaimie is the most unique player ive seen. i like him. hes fine by me

  • @vidurk he did tell the truth though? he didnt have a GREAT hand (definitely good for heads up i guess) and said, "if you dont have a queen then i've got you" 100% truth

  • like always jamie always says the truth in this situations why dont they pick that up?

  • lol dont have a heart attack

  • If u guys have very good skills, its so easy to read what Jamie has, since he always talk too much when he has a hand, and he is so quite when he is bluffing as long as watch this.

  • Is Jamie eating a bowl of Raisin Bran? 3:20

  • wasicka should call the straight flush draw. was his chance to triple up and fight for the first place.

  • guys, learn this:

    1. a big stack MUST play against the odds to kick players out... thats why a big stack seems lucky...

    2. TV shows the most "incredible hands" not all.

    3. A lucky hand is highly celebrated.

    4. A lucky hand generates big pots when played by a big stack.

    5. a big stack plays so many bluffs that he will be paid on his pushes, cause other players will consider a bluff much probable.

=> thats why any big stack will look lucky on tv.

  • @Raulthink I know this comment is very old but I gotta say, it was very informative.

  • @Raulthink well said dude. amen

  • @Raulthink all makes sense...i dont know much tournament deep stack tactics.

  • @Raulthink this guy knows something or alot about real poker.

so all you rtards that don't try reading his post a couple times then gtfo afterwards

  • @Raulthink What you say is true, but if you're trying to imply that Jamie didn't get stupidly lucky at the final table then that's ridiculous. I was there. If Alan had've run anything close to ev he'd have taken it down.

  • @Raulthink gold doesn't know anything about poker

  • @Raulthink thank you for the information

  • I wouldnt of gone in

  • He single handedly knocked out all the other players. He so deserved the title. Like his attitude or not, he is an amazing player

  • jamie gold is not even a poker player. he won the wsop and everything but he was so lucky. he has no game at all. where is he now???? if he plays poker he will go minus dispite all what he won here in 6 months.

tom dwan is an amazing player, patrik antoniuos is , allen cunningham is , jamie gold is one time lucky bastard

  • He had a good strategy the way he talked people in doing what he wanted. However, if a player sticks to a single strategy without variance sooner or later someone will figure it out. The reason hasn't been successful in many subsequent tournaments/cash games (high stakes poker, Irish world open) is because people figured him out.

  • why don't poker players look at the flop and make up there minds then? i know reading your opponent is part of the game but you should not count on the turn or the river

  • he makes me think about JCVD jean claude van damme

    what guts

provocative but he got into the minds of everybody so they didn't play their best poker and he did ... he did !

no luck involved cos everyone catch their hands here and there but he put pressure he bluffed he had position and took advantage of every part of the game

well coached by a great champion

  • it sounds like all that gold's mum is thinkin about is the money

  • in my mind jamie was too lucky to lose on the night, and he did talk people into calling or folding, which is his forte, in that sense he played it very well. cunningham on the other hand made a couple of fantastic laydowns, but it wasn't to be. lee is the one i felt stood up the best against gold but got unlucky in one hand. wasicka is great but he probably should have risked the 3 way all in so he would have a better shot of standing against jamie, but it's easy for me to say.

  • In general i would say Wasica is a better player than gold. Wasica has achived so much in poker deserves a lot of credit

  • OMG, what the fuck, a record clean prize!!!! wow

    12.000.000 $ ====O. wow!!!

My favorite player is ElkY Grosspellier.

  • i dont think that gold is a bad player but at this series he plays awesome good!! he got the luck to the right time and makes the moves to the right time!! so where where you and all guys who say that he is a bad player at this wsop???

  • that was a terrible call from Wasicka..I know we can see the cards and everything, but still..

  • 5:05: "I'm already all-in, you can't change my decision". He was trying to harvest information for his own decesion, duh...

  • Worst ever main event champion? That reminds me of something a poker player once said....

"You say how can I make that call? I say how can you make that bet?" If Jamie played bad, everyone else at that table played worse.

  • gold ROCKS

  • Jamie sucks. He's the worst main event champion ever! like he sucks at poker.

  • U must be stupid.........

  • 9:20 - rich mazafaka, threw out 10K

  • Jamie Gold deserved to win the main event. He was chip leader from day four & never looked back.

  • sorry, but i hate jamie gold.

  • jamie´s decision aren´t always good !

but his luck and the way to talk to the opponent while he makes a decision is fantastic

  • 12M$ so sick i would to won that just one time lol....

  • Gold won the event for two reasons. 1 - He caught cards regularly, and 2 - he talked people into folding / calling to his advantage.

  • who cares for your lame coments you poor bastards. Jamie is 2006 main event champion.

  • You can't suck and win the main event. Anyone who seriously thinks that knows nothing about poker.

  • It never ceases to amaze me how Jamie Gold manages to get otherwise completely bright people to do the absolute dumbest things..

He brings peoples inherit distrust of their fellow man to the front of their minds..

  • Thats what made him good that year. He was out day 1 this year though. People were on to his tricks.

  • byron nelson died, OH NO!

  • Gols is da best

  • Good things happens when you played for good cause...in this case Gold played for his dad :) it doesn't matter what people saids about Gold whether he got lucky or not, he has balls and he played well messing with the players' mind.

  • SUCH A BELLEND! Must be autistic or something... God...

  • Damn lucky Jew.

BTW I loved how he always told what he had.

  • To everyone that says he won't win another braclet , i just want to say that you might be right but how many braclets have you won? Oh that's right none so stop cry like little bitches about how lucky gold whas... atleast he have a braclet suckers!

  • are u serious xzyrius? thats the point moron!

  • why the fuck did the other dude go all in!?...Jamie even told him he got a queen! the other dude was a DEEDEEDEE!!!

  • with that intellegent comment you prove y you are watching this and he played it!

  • you sir are a moron, he never says call. If you pay attention and also do alittle research Wasicka states he didnt want cause a big scene by saying "i never said call" He intention on it was to get a reaction out of Gold

  • DeeDeeDee!!!

  • Jamie Gold is the best. He always bluff the river LOL

  • I hate Jamie gold

  • lol 3:05 "FINISH HIM" "SHHHH"

And for those of you who think calling a push on the flop with 10's with only one over card to the board HEADS UP against an EXTREMELY LOOSE PLAYER on a drawy flop is a bad play then please, move up from micro stakes before talking.

  • donkey don't win maint event. Simple.

  • jamie gold sucks

  • johnny chan trains him yes, but jamie gold sucks....he didn't even last 4 hrs. the next year

  • Jamie gold sucks cocks in hell

  • ur mum sucks me right now

  • jamie is a good player not a pro

  • omfg

is jamie throwing money bricks ?

    @ 9:20

  • hes tipping the tournament director

  • jamie gold owns you all

  • in response to a previous comment, i think poker blew up after cmm b/c that was the first year the main event was broadcasted with pocket cams

  • he has talent,he just dosnt have the talent that everybody likes.he can make u think what he wants u to no matter the hand, and then u have 2 play around that.

  • Jamie Gold has game. People just don't like him for his attitude. Sorry people, but he is no donkey/fish.

  • at least u can say he entertaining

  • Jamie Gold hit cards throughout the whole main event. He got lucky and was basically 8-1 heads up with Paul Wasicka. Guarantee he won't win another bracelet

  • I think Jamie Gold winning was a conspiracy to boom the poker scene again. After monkeymaker won, poker literally blew up. Jamie Gold = Lucky Donk

  • Hey had a good run in 2006 but I say he's

    not gonna win another bracelet.

  • what if he has another good run? lol

  • lol..no queen?..then i got ya.....hahaha! funny!....doing that at the irish open too..

  • any1 read the poker magazines at the time n find out what really happened in thefinal hand? lol. wasika cud of really kicked up a fuss if he wanted to

  • why, what happened?

  • Paul never actually said "I call." He said you talked me into it, and stood up, and then Jamie turned his hand over before "call" was said. Jamie's hand is (should be) dead.

  • gold isnt a skilled player but without a doubt the lukiest player in the tournament.. he surely has 1 very unique skill, talking his opponents into calling n folding whenever he wants.. that skill got him a long way.. besides that, not so great player..

  • i am not a pro but even i can tell that Gold not a good player.
