  • History shows that hustoric aircraft and trians are too eaisly scrapped We rai fans should pressure congres to pas sa lew (yes another bloody law) that revents old locomotives and aircraft from being scrapped... its our history... its jsut 25 years ago SD40-2 was the king of the railroads.. now their being sold or worse..

  • What hapened to the other track

  • I know that now. I figured that out 3 months ago.

  • do BNSF crews and UP crews assist each other in time of need

  • If either consist needs helper trains, the dispatcher can assign a crew to the specific consist to help until needed. Sometimes you'll see UP or BNSF engines in a consist, those are usually on the interchange going back to their belonging yard.

  • UP1529 is that the Patched Cotton belt unit?

Looks like a foamer sp ssw

  • Nice video and nice to see old engines still in active. in L.A Genset took over most of the place near downtown.

  • What is that clicking noise I hear?

  • Pretty good sized yard!!

  • I'm surprised to see then pushing those ballast hoppers, they should have had a clear track to come into the yard on, the switch crews weren't doing their jobs.

  • your video aspect ratio looks off it makes the video looked squished from top to bottom.

  • Its the standard ratio...the camera is made for 16:9, but i shoot in 4:3.

  • so your just letterboxing it then? Just wondering. It's hard to decide which ratio to do these days with TV's with both ratios.

  • cool shot! was that a KCS behind the UP on the oppisite facing train

  • it was an LLPX

  • What unit is that behind the one that is stoped???

  • well the locos that were sitting there were UP 350, and LLPX 2230

  • LLPX 2230 is an Ex. Belt Railway Of Chicago Unit. Cool to find out there

  • I never see any ALCOs in your vids.

  • Nope, there aren't any in this area.

  • Hell, you rarely ever see alcos around unless they are owned by a shortline or industrial railraod.

  • Yep, that's right

  • Speaking of Alcos, what do your local grain elevators use for power? Other than the Plymouth LOL

  • That GP9, and a couple SW1200's

  • how many trains did you get today

  • Just that one....very dull day. But I was only out for an hour or so.

  • hell yeah!
