  • This film is one of the last 'slapstick' type movies that could be made, outside of Airplane or Blazing Saddles...back to 'Its a mad, mad, mad world...they were just too expensive...But Mr. Steve pulled this one off! Music aside, the actor/actress spectrum is a colourful one. "watch it Wally he's got a leg!"

  • i LOVE THIS THEME SONG, ONE OF MY FAVORITES AND i LOVED THE MOVIE TOO!

  • Let me hear your guns son! Let me hear your guns!

  • The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band rendition of this piece is amazing!

  • I love this movie as well. I like Slim Pickens - "We fought your kind in the Great War, and we kicked the living shit out of ya!"

  • Had this song in my head on our final march when I graduated Marine boot camp in 1989. If I have to walk somewhere, it still pops in there.

  • I think that the best march of Williams is played at the end of Midway.

  • F*** U 1 DISLIKE!

  • @wibli Dislikes video. You mad bro? and no i did not dislike it

  • Without doubt the most underated film of all time.ive watched this lots of times and still laugh till i almost cry, plenty stands out but when the airfield commander tells one of his men to kick jonn beluishs wild biil kelso in the shins to make sure hes not a jap on stills is one of my favorite bits.

  • The issue isn't that people don't like this movie, it's that they've never seen it! I've asked so many people if they like this movie, and they've never heard of it!

  • I don't care what the critics said. I thought this was a great comedy.

  • i actually loves this movie too

  • my favorite line, by Slim Pickens after being captured by the Japs, "You ain't gettin' shit out of me"

  • John Belushi: Born in 1949 ... Died in "1941".

  • The movie is slapstick trash but the music is great:D

    John Williams is the greatest:D

  • I love the theme greatly, used to play it back when I was in high school band too long ago.

  • I actually LOVE this movie, and the soundtrack, of course, is awesome

    :D

  • Awesome! John Williams is AMAZING!

  • this song has been stuck in my head the past couple of days, and I played it in band like 4 years ago. It MUST be a good march to still be stuck in my head now!

  • As a child all i listened to was my john williams cd haha. March was my favorite.

  • John Williams one reason why Steven Spielberg movies succeeded...

    The Music Score

  • This looks pretty gnarly on clarinet; my instructor just gave us this piece...

  • Played snare on this in symphony, excellent piece.

  • A greatly underrated movie. Maybe not a great movie, but entertaining and absolutely hilarious in places. And a great score.

  • Merci, bien.

  • BELUSHI FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very underrated movie and soundtrack is just perfect!

  • Must be somethin' wrong with me, cause I got this whole flick. Maybe it was drugs.

  • we had nothing to do in band class today. so my instructor hands us all the sheet music and says "Learn it" i saw 'March from 1941' on the top of the page and started laughing hysterically. all i could think of was the guy with the grapefruit on the top of the ferris wheel.

  • i love this song so much!!!!

  • Classic Williams. Spielberg himself rates this as his personal fave Williams March. A wonderous piece of music for a vastly underrated (and very funny) movie (that has FINALLY received a belated DVD release in the UK!!).

  • I liked this film a lot. Underrated for sure.

  • 2:18 French Horn!!! +1

  • ive been trying to find this music for ages. I never knew it was John Williams

  • Yess, this is the long version.

One of my greatest soundtrackscores from Williams.

  • this is actually the short version sorry dude

  • @BTW31594 ....where is the long version??

Because i remember this 4 minutes and 12 seconds is the long version.

    Well, maybe you are right.

It`s been a long time since i`ve heard this theme again.

  • Such an amazing song to play.

We played this for competition and for our spring concert. AWESOME

  • we just played this for honor band, and i love it!!!

  • Holleeeeewoood !!

  • I was one of the few who actually likes this movie!

Spielberg said he actually likes this march BETTER than the Raiders of the lost ark march.

It not only has a great theme, but the ENTIRE score is great like this, and WONDERFULLY entertaining!!!

    1941 rocks!!

  • I also love 1941. This is Spielberg's most underrated film. This march is truly incredible and one of John William's absolute best.

  • @janhammerrules well of course John Williams wrote it hahaha =D

  • @janhammerrules I wanna high five you so bad for saying that! This movie is probably one of my biggest guilty pleasures next to Troll 2.

  • An excellent piece of music for a less than excellent movie. John Williams really likes this march.

  • Gee?

    Youtube?

You are going to remove most everything?

    Then where will you be?

    Nothing for free, Yes?

You were a common man's last vestige for hope.

I will see you with the wreckage of the Titanic.

  • Band Geek <3 Playing this for our Fall concert opener. It's gonna BE AWESOME!!!! I love the oboe soli at the end...it makes me HAPPY...

  • what is recommended? single tonguing or double tonguing the rhythm played the lower brass? I find the articulation and air flow much more clean when i use single-tonguing, but the first chair tormbonist keeps telling me to double tonguing. :S

  • Whatever technique you're best at. If you haven't practiced double-tounging you shouldn't use that :P Indeed, the air flow will be cleaner with single-tounging.

  • This song isn't that hard its just the tonguing. I love playing this song compared to the other songs I have to play. (GO BAND)

  • we're playing this in band its so hard but so DAMN FUN !!

  • Yeah, it is really hard! I remember playing this is HS, I couldn't believe I could play that fast, but I still love this song <3

  • our 8th grade band played it and it was amazing
