  • Haha, you actually signed a song I know! I love your videos! they always make me smile!

  • Man I love this song, I didn't know you signed it. Now that I'm in a program I understand your signing so much better (and appreciate it so much more). How are you doing? You taking courses this September?

  • @BenASL Indeed. I'm taking terp courses at Douglas this Fall. I've already moved to Van. Message me, maybe we can meet up? I'd love to sit in on one of your classes!

  • Your signs are very different than mine. Where are you from?

  • Great job, love the way you communicate.

Nothing got lost in your translation, that's

    for sure. Blessings and thanks.

  • This is awesome! Thank you so much. Well Done!!!

  • I liked the song and hadn't heard it before, it was great and thanks for including the lyrics.

  • Are you hearing?

I took ASL because of this video.

  • Yo that was pretty tight my dude. Much respect.

  • ummm idk what ur trying to say in most of this some is ok maybe you should consider having the ASL gloss go across the screen

  • That was awesome!!

  • This is really awsome! My friend who is majoring in ASL would really be inspired by you........ Love this song i almost heard the words to the song..... :) thank you so much.

  • great job, i really enjoyed watching. good structure and truly showing the meaning of the song with ASL. work on your sign production, good job :-)

  • was this just for entertainment purposes or a project??? your signs are a little out of my league but very good. i'd like to sign this song for a project and if yours was for a project how did you do?

  • @26jcope Not a project. Just for fun.

  • @NeutralMage o ok thanks!

  • This is a Jesus song..."give me Your eyes."

  • this is just so awesome ! really !

  • What make u like ASL ? No hard feeling !

  • that is so cool! i wish i could do that! :]

@MsHappyface5 i had that same problem

  • this is so cool! i wish i could do that haha : D

  • x3 that was cool^^ i went to a church once so i know wuchu doin xp lol...if it weren't for that i would have NO idea what you were doing XD

  • i used to sing this song for church and now i know how to sign it so now i can sign it and sing it haha

  • Hii can you tell me where is the sign "give me"?

I am learning asl and would like to know this word.

  • the only problem i have, is that u look bored out of your mind, this is an amazing song and it has a great meaning, but ur face is stotic

  • oh im sorry i misunderstood.i thought Genny164 meant you had a 2010 version.lol thank you for ur response :-)

  • i tried posting this comment multiple times and it didnt stick iguess.lol sorry if it ends up posting like 4 times but..... where can i find the 2010 version of this song u made???? i really wana see it.

  • @MsHappyface5 I didn't maeke a 2010 version of this song. :S Sorry

  • I am going to see if you have posted anything more recent as I now see this was a year ago. I remember doing my video for interpreter school and I die laughing at myself now years later. I didn't even know what a classifier was back then.

  • For anyone who doesn't know ASL, this looks "pretty". Clearly a signed English version of this song. Take a class with Deaf teachers. You have vocabulary, now you need to work on developing ASL classifiers, FACIAL GRAMMAR. Before you post another video, I would urge you to have feedback from your DEAF friends. You can do it!! It takes time. Contrastive analysis is also a class I highly recommend to teach you the linguistic differences between ASL and English.

  • can anyone help me out??...what are the signs that look like to peace signs that he puts to his chest? and the signs that kinda look like love when he goes from one side to the other? im kinda new at asl.

  • Check out his recent video in 2010 and you will see a person who has shown DRAMATIC ASL growth since one year ago when he made this one. Go LOOK!! : )

  • @Genny164 From one of my harsher critics (No judgement, in fact I appreciate the honesty) this is very kind of you to say. The 2010 one still has flaws in it, but practice makes almost-perfect. :) Thanks again!

  • One of your more honest direct feedbacks, not critic! One time in terp school, my interpretation was so bad that all my classmates were left if stunned silence! Finally someone told me what was wrong and then I was able to work on it. If everyone just say how great and awesome something is when it might not be, how would we ever improve? Hugs to you.

  • @NeutralMage what is your new video under?? i cant find it. im excited i wanasee it!!!

  • wats he doin

  • =DDD i love this song

thank you sooo much for doing it

omgoodness, i have to learn this

    <3 <3 <3

  • hey!

i wonder if you can tell me......i can't see well with the quick sign. what are you signing during the "give me your eyes..."? i see you sign EVERYTHING I_______MISS. can you help me clear it up? thanks!

  • I have to turn the volume down to read signs so I don't get confused. Once I did that, I understood perfectly. You are great. Whoever said that girl did it better doesn't know ASL. She signs English. You rock!

  • this video is beautyfull really but i dont undrestand

how can you do the asl words exacly when is the word on the song if you dont hear?

    :s

although you got a gift man(:

  • I really like your signing style. It's very easy to understand. Could you post your GLOSS? Your interpretation is 258, I love it! Great work and great song! Thanks!

  • Can I see the glossing for this?? It's pretty tight! I like your interpretation

  • Are you really hearing impared? I read signs aswell ;) Thanks :)

  • uh...he's hearing.

  • he says so below on calvinist4christ's comment

  • Your point?

  • no other point. just that you are hearing.

  • But that was kind of a random mention.

  • i was answering s/one's question. i wasn't randomly throwing that out there. i meant nothing mean. i'm a fan of anyone out there learning and practicing and doing their thing.

  • no duh maybe he is mute...

  • That would be a no.

  • @NeutralMage have you seen UTjenhawk09 version, i'm not dis respecting you, but hers is better, should check out out. but still, nice to see more people apart from her doing things like this.

  • Wow, it would take me a long time to remember all that sign laungage. Awesome job! I wish I were that talented!

......and you were right the facial exp[ression was kind of funny but mine would be too, with all that focus and energy

  • That was beautiful. very well done. I'm sure you get this alot... but you are cute. :)

I should take up signlanguage..... maybe after chinese......

  • SO BEAUTIFUL and your handsom!

  • WOW what an amazing job

  • Thank you!

  • good signing, r u deaf/hard of hearing/hearing? I'm hearing and can understand every word u said :)

  • I'm pretty sure he's not deaf. There's a video where he drops the camera and he says something like, "shoot" (I don't remember the exact word). It's possible that he's hard of hearing I guess.....

  • It's also just as possible likely that'd he'd able to answer the question himself.

I am Hearing, and by the by; just because a person is D/deaf (or HOH) does in no way mean s/he cannot speak just as well as you or I.

Thanks for watching, really appreciate it! :)

  • :-) You could have been deaf and able to speak, but if you were completely deaf unless you were sitting on a chair that vibrated to the rythm of the music I don't imagine you would have gotten quite as much feeling and movement into the song? Just wondering, I love ASL and can do some, but mostly just to far simpler praise songs where the vocabulary and grammar are much simpler. Your signing seems to capture the essence of the song in a way both deaf and hearing people would get. :-) thanks

  • Sorry, I did not mean to offend you by trying to answer that question. In my experience on YT people who have as many videos as you have normally don't have time to respond to every commented question on his/her video. I'm also sorry for the late response! I switched emails so I didn't see this comment until today when I was re-seeing your video.

  • Wow. I really like how you do your songs, I would watch them all the time. I will have to try to find more. Probably should say this, but your cute on top of being so good as signing....lol

  • Um, BEAUTIFUL. Love it.

  • I am deaf myself, and so far you did good. Just keep working on improving your hands. One thing of advice, learn to loosen your fingers and relax your hands :)

  • nice man! keep it up!!!

  • Jordan, you are so good... that's awesom.

  • Awesome !!! wonderful interpretacion, you did it with your soul, thank you so much, I'm not deaf, but I like to understand your world, is mine too, Happy Valentine's day

  • I liked that that was very good, where did you learn ASL?

  • I really like the style with which you sign. I'm new to learning to sign and I have a question. I understand not signing in English word by word, but why the choice to not give the metaphorical language of "give me your eyes"? I know it means to give me the ability to see, but doesn't going so literal lose some of the art of the lyrics. Again, I notice some of the best signers doing that, so I'm wondering if I'm wrong. To me it takes some of the color out.

  • I agree sometimes it does lose the meaning of the song it all depends on how you veiw it and how you interpret it i try to be as close as i can even though your not supposed to. but others go more for meaning and that's really good too :)

  • Besides the facial expression in the first part (which you seem to have already noticed) I would say you did really well. =) You did an excellent job translating into asl! <3

  • this is awesome!! i know asl too and i always wanted to do something like this!! this is soo cool!!

    do more videos!! =)

  • God bless =]

  • You'd be surprise what you can pick up and learn and how quickly. I work with special needs kids and last year my student was hard of hearing. There was an interpreter in the class so I watched and learned SOME from her. By the time the school year was over, people were asking me to translate things from other deaf students before. Its all about passion and how dedicated you are. I'm almost 27. I am trying to get back to school so I can study ASL. How about you ? You in school ? Or you deaf ?♥

  • That was a great story, :).

I'm not d/Deaf, I am hearing. I am attending university, and have taken non-credit ASL courses in the past.

  • Very cool! Have you been signing long?

  • Since June about?

  • That's impressive. You're very talented!

  • Very nice interpretation!

I was confused for a second, I was like, why is he signing "skill?" but then I got it. Very good with not doing everything word for word but by meaning! =]

  • Yea, rephrasing this song was rough. I was going for "ability," do you know of a better sign I could have used? Thanks for the comment!

  • Oh, no worries, "skill" and "ability" are the same sign! It still works; "give me the ability to see" translates a lot better than "give me your eyes" lol.

Neat tidbit I learned a couple weeks ago that might help you for later songs: when you want to sign "good" as in "he is good at something" you sign "skill" rather than "good."

  • dude, i went to a matt maher concert and there was a guy who was signing in ASL and i must have watched him so much he probably thought i was deaf.

you would be good at signing stuff like that.
