The drive shaft from the outdrive goes directly into the coupler on the engine. All shifting is done in the lower unit in the alpha drive you have. Reguardless of what gear it is in, the driveshaft and u-jounts are always spinning when engine is running.
wow great, I have a 211 liberator and wore a hole in my bellows causing water to get in and rust over the winter causing about 2000 of parts and labor. i bet this is why. great reply . thanks fellas

you better tilt the dam drive level or you'll wear a hole in you bellows from the u-joints and H-yoke!!!
