The project was done using Lightwave 3D. I took a series of photos to create a 360 panorama. I mapped the panorama onto the inside of a cylinder as a source for the reflections. Then I placed a flat plane behind the saucer and did a planar image map of my house. I also used an additional polygon to cast the shadow on the street. It creates an adequate illusion but there are noticeable flaws as well.
