@halliehuff96 uhhh... yeah! the bleaching substance is carbamide peroxide, a close chemical derivative of the commonly used hydrogen peroxide (bleaching substance used earlier). As she says, there are different concentrations of peroxide in the bleaching gel, 10, 15 and 20 % (I have 15 %) The only side effect is (besides straining the enamel) is a tingling sensation in the bleached tooth. This can be prevented by brushing your teeth with a tubule blocking toothpaste such as Sensodyne

Cheaper and easier to use homemade ingredints.

You need:

1 ripe strawberry

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions: Crush the strawberry to a pulp, then mix with the baking soda until blended. Use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth. Leave on for 5 minutes, then brush thoroughly with toothpaste to remove the berrybaking soda mix. Rinse. (A little floss will help get rid of any strawberry seeds.) you have to apply this once a week.

Plus White works great for me and I saw a difference after one use..I'm sure its cheaper too. I think these dentist take home kits are like a couple hundred dollars. They use a hydrogen peroxide solution and so does Plus White. Plus White is just more concentrated so you don't have to leave it on as long.

yea my mom is affiliated at a dentist office so they get them for 20 dollers, goes to show dentists buy for less sell for more, on ebay you can find them for 20 - 30. ( just incase all u british folk were wondering ) lol
