Coalition Governemnt is not going to fix the problem because they plan to install this BIG stimilus package into the Canadian economy, but they don't even know where the pressure points that are causing Canada to go into a recession are. So how exactly can they fix Canada?!?!

The Liberal word should not be used in a government that wants everything to be as absolutely cheap as possible. Focusing on making the majority of the public do things like take public transit and live in very small , deadend homes , that have almost no ability to inspire anything but the reliance upon government. I warned Canadians about this type of "JOB" reliance long ago. It was because I could see that Liberals like Dion would simply laugh about how they were seriously promissed , through high pay rates , that they would never be held accountable for any actions that they took , or failed to take. With promissed exemption from any prosecution , Dion laughs in our faces with no remorse or guilt. He , like many others concentrated on that being their platform and their religious practice.

Well, from the looks of things Dion is stepping down effective immediately and Ignatieff will become the next Liberal leader. Not sure if it will be permanent or just interim till the Vancouver convention but he will probably be the new face of the party. Dion's showing an incredible amount of humility and he's getting out so we can have a Liberal party that stands a chance and can generate the support of the people.

Harper scored a brilliant one here. He had no majority and no prospects for one. So he outlines a budget that is sure to produce a coalition non-confidence vote (if they did nothing they would be hamstrung by the election funding removal). Dion bet his legacy on Jean dissolving parliament instead of another too-soon election. He lost. Harper has 6 more weeks to talk about back-room seperatist deals. No change in liberal leadership will happen. This one's Dion's to win or lose.

He just never learned how to play the political game as well as his predecessors (Chretien, Martin) and as such shouldn't be the party leader. He would make a great minister of the environment and should be involved in policy-making but he can't stand toe-to-toe with Harper. While I agree that it is a bit of an over emphasis on form vs substance, think about it like this:

Who's more likely to get a job? Someone with awesome content in their CV but submits it without formatting, spell check and on crumpled paper, or the person who submits their resume that has slightly less quality content but has been polished. I would say that most cases, the second resume is successful. Polishing your work is a sign of commitment to excellence, which is something a PM needs.

Yeah, following Dion's English sometimes requires a double-take on certain words. But I think complaining about his verbal style and the video's technical quality is a misplaced emphasis on form over substance. We at least see Dion at a real WORKspace, not in a set more appropriate to comfy seasons greetings. This video is a pretty serious let down. After the election Dion apologized for letting Harper paint him as incompetent. He said that Canadians never got a real chance to know him.

I think SO. We're not Americans. We don't vote for a President. We vote for local representatives. Usually the leader of the party with the most seats is PM. We never directly vote for our PM. The current PM is failing to do his job and only has a minority of seats. The coalition has a majority of seats, and therefore the coalition's leader will be PM. If anybody had an idea about how to fix the economy, then it'll all be fixed. But nobody knows what is going to happen in the future, so wouldnt it be safer to see what will happen rather then try something and worsen it.
