  • You know... all that once fired brass could generate a secondary income for the Forces if resold to gun owners... just say'n ;)

  • You lot left the French Canadians behind for D-Day, right? If not, I take it they were the only units to retreat? Joking Cheers from you neighbors below.

  • practiquer est bon parceque . . . their double feed clearing is a bit slow (1:14).

  • Buddy in 1:05, did he get jacked up? LMAO

  • my last name is DESCHENES!!!!

  • Hardly new; I remember performing similar drills at the range in the 80's with the C1.

  • Valcartier is a base in Quebec so they are going to speak French, get over it.

Anyways, it's good to know more than one language. The French side of many cereal boxes is more interesting to look at than the English side.

  • This is so pointless.

    french???

  • Cool

  • To all the the people bashing about french, please arrêter, on vit dans le même pays, on a deux langues et alors? la Suisse en a quoi, 4 ou 5, oui on se chicane la-dessus mais on reste des compatriote et je serais fier de donner ma vie pour n'importe quel canadien, qu'il parle anglais ou français, and btw most of french people in canada are bilingual, why is it not the same thing for english people?

  • The targets seem to be far away. I hope they can hit them.

  • Wow I hope they modernized since this video. Poor grip poor drills. Rat tag outfit.

  • it might provide better training if they put the targets on the back of remote controlled robots that moved from side to side and up or down the range

  • i want to learn all the languages apart from christian , jew , muslim , rastarfarian and sufi .

  • Haha this actually made me laugh, this reminds me of the american revolution

  • This is for Urban combat? We are taught to enter the firing position with a kick, to plant the foot without landing on a rock, which happens all the time in urban combat.

Youre never just standing there with your weapon ready, and see the enemy pop out and go "oh, I wont move, Ill just raise my weapon!"

In combat, everything is done in motion.

    Sillies....

  • Oh my god I'm so jelous!

When I become a rockstar I will have an infinite supply of ammo to "familiarize" myself with my weapons.

  • what happened to the dude at 1:03

    ??

  • @georgelidd i think hes like playing around not takin it serious LOL the cap or sarg idk told him something like STOP PLAYIN!!! CONCENTRATE =P

  • @chespo I had to look again...his stance is wrong. If you see he is leaning back way too much. I am sure to counter the weight, but he should use that weight to keep him from being pushed back.

  • @georgelidd He was being an idiot and got chewed out by the instructor..

  • as per Magpul Dynamics instruction:

wasted movement: insert mag > tap mag.

unstable mag well grip: ESPECIALLY for full length M16 platform, this grip creates mechanical over sway with human body mechanics especially with all that weight up front.

  • It also appears that extended charging handle latches are standard on their C7s these days.

  • 1:04 dude getting squared away

  • In Ontario, it is mandatory in school up till grd 9 to learn french. I am not sure about the other provinces. In Quebec, the kids there have to learn english. But who cares, the cool thing is the ned tactical shooting

  • fail reload at 1:14

  • @2J8O4S6H9 he never reloaded, he was trying to unjamming it. learn the difference.

  • @2J8O4S6H9 actually he did very well at clearing a jam from that weapon. He ejected the magazine as a last resort and just replaced it with another.

    ~Thanato

  • the distance is amazing !!!!

  • @sedmink Not the point, at all.

  • WHY IS IT IN FRENCH THATS STUPID MOST CANADIANS SPEAK ENGLISH

  • what the hell???thats funny :) (1:05)

  • What they are doing is nothing really new. Some of the stuff is even old and outdated (slaping the magazine instead of solidly inserting it in the first place), but whatever, they're the soldiers so whatever they like to use i dont care.

  • Okay so why is everything from the Canadian Army news in French.? Most of Canada speaks English.

  • @beerrunner81 All Army News episodes are bilingual. We create both English and French content that is subtitled in the other language.

  • @CanadianArmyNews: How does that work then, that QC's language is French and other provinces are English? Do they have separate units for the French speakers, or is it a requirement to be bilingual?

  • @1brandon504 Yes, Quebec's official language is French, and Canada as a whole is a bilingual nation (French and English). The language requirement varies depending on your position, and different regiments also have different language specifications. For more information, please contact your local recruiting office.

  • @CanadianArmyNews

it's actually more effecient than the U.S. we don't have a national language.

  • @JBLAKIE1 "National Language" is irrelevant - the Language of Use in the US Military is ENGLISH, whether it be in Puerto Rico or Georgia. All Units must conduct military business in English. As for "efficiency", the Canadians learned and still learn all of their tactics directly from American units.

  • @beerrunner81 because were bilingual and the army is a goverment orginization and have to show that the french are a major part in building the army

  • @beerrunner81we are a bilingual country

  • The C7's are better then M16's. They have better internals and a more accurate barrel. The only difference between the C7A1 and the C7A2, is that the A2 has a collapsible stock, OD green barrel cover and stock to break up the weapon image and the charging handle has a longer left side so that it can be cocked with winter gloves on.

  • @OhBoysPaintball i heard its more reabiable.

  • Their control of the rifle, and thus their ability to quickly switch between targets and control muzzle rise, would be better if they gripped them farther forward.

  • The CHARGING handle is for charging the weapon. If you keep snatching the CHARGING handle from one side w/ ONE hooked finger, you will exert more twist/ torque than a stock charging handle is designed to take. It will eventually bind in the slot and/or fail with cracks around the latch pivot pin hole.If you insert the mag w/ LH then the Left thumb is already at the BOLT release. Same w/ RH if you have an ambi- BOLT release. The c-7 has an ambi-safety. I see no ambi- bolt release

  • Real training at a Tactical course huh! Nothing tactical here just basic skills. In fact the shaking of the rifle I see here is NOT a Stoppage clearing technique. Also the bolt release is used by hitting the catch with the palm of the non dominant hand (gross motor skill) No need (during a reload) to yank the charging handle unless the bolt is forward with nothing in the chamber. Nothing wrong with using the charging handle, it just takes more motion and is not needed.

    Shoot, Move.......Live

  • in the vids of people relaoding on a M16 or variant they never use the bolt release and i dont get why. you where issued the gun they should have gave you a manual to use it the point im getting at is that it takes a longtime if you just drop th mag reload and press that switch on the left side of the gun i should release th bolt unless you have one that dosent keep the bolt back after the last round...witch i kinda doubt

  • @dosuloveshinata if you look more closely it looks like the one guy it shows closely is clearing a stoppage. Now its been awhile since I have done any ia/stopage drills, but that looks exactly right for how the CF has trained to do them.

  • It is because the new variant of the C-7 is ambi-dextrous, and the new CF standard is to not use the bolt release. Thus we use a gross motor skill of cocking the weapon in lieu of the fine motor skill of hitting the bolt catch.

  • @Kippenheim if you can't gross motorskill slapping a bolt catch. Going to a more time intensive charging handle release is not going to help. Infact they may forget to release it and ride the bolt forward. Thus creating more problems.

  • @dosuloveshinata If you were involved in tactical shooting you would not have made such a comment, in real training at a tactical course they teach you to use the charging handle at all times, in theory its more effective to use the bolt return but its not the way they train you, "Insert yank crank and release is what they teach, not insert yank push the button, you have seen too many movies and need to attend a tactical rifle course to educate your self .

  • actually its the c7 rifle the canadain varient of the m16

  • hehe almost forgot you speak french in canada. may go there to learn it someday

  • Quebec is where its mostly spoken. Everywhere else its english

  • @Huymsn

    NB = Officially Bilingual

  • not even %20 of the entire Canadian Population speaks french.

  • you might be disappointed if you come to Canada to learn and speak French. It's better to go to France if you want to be real fluent. We often joke that it's not called French it's called Fringlish.

  • @CheKo136 we actually speak french as well as any other francophone country including France in Québec. Alors avant de dire n'importe quoi....

  • lol at 1:13, should learn SPORTS.... works much easier...

  • hahaha 1:04 keep that weapon down range!

  • haha, 1:04 at first it looked like he got shot! :L

must have been a spasm or sumthin

  • That would make a great Canadian Army News segment. Some of the "new" weapons parts. IE VFG, BUIS, and the EOtech 552 and the insight 6x. You could spend one to two minutes on each one--kind of like a soundbite--in between full segments. Call it "weapons minute" or something like that.

  • It does cause stoppages. Not always but enough for me not to use this technique in harms way. That is why the Canadian Forces issues a Vertical Fore Grip to soldiers. That is why it has a forestock, to support the rifle. The magwell secures the magazine. Unless you have the hands of a four year old child, you will affect the magazine with your grip. Beside, the 'O'ring area will get hot! Smells like burning.

This information comes from some squirrels and chipmunks. You know who I mean...

  • Old days...it will still cause stoppages. Not always but often enough I use a VFG rather than my magwell.

Hence, the reason the CF issues a VFG!!!

  • I do not get the shaking of the gun to clear a stoppage. It looks slow an awkward compared to other methods of stoppage clearing. Such as "SPORTS". Slap Pull Observe Release Tap Shoot.

As a US Infantryman, I've worked several times with Canadian Infantry... you boys have some good hard fighting troopers. Hats off to you.

  • S.P.O.R.T.S. as taught by Chris is intended to a form of the Tap, Rack, Bang intended for a Type 1 stoppage.

The soldier was shaking the rifle to clear a 'bolt partially forward stoppage' or a Type 3 stoppage. There are more effective techniques for clearing this stoppage but that is part of the CDN Manual of Arms.

I have worked with the US Army quite a bit and together we have done some good in the sandbox. Thanks

  • It's useful for some situations. Like some double feeds where the loose round just wants to hang out in there or a rare instance where a rim is torn off the case and it's still in the chamber...

  • @MadOgre My guess is he must of got a double feed or at least thought it was a double feed and was trying to shake out the round that ftf

  • @win70supershadow

That is the training drill. Clearing a jam. In training you do what you're told.

Army way is not always best but they have their reasons for training like they do. Some chump who never fired a round before joining the CF needs to learn as foolproof a clearing drill as possible.

  • @MadOgre Tap,rack, and go.They switch up methods all the time to clear stoppages and also for room clearing budds.Learning one set of muscle memory ,just to learn something new by another instructor can get frustrating, but some methods are better then others so we take the good from the not so good.

  • @MadOgre I wasnt really sure about the shaking too, but i think its designed for close quarters when your minimizing noise.... if you get a jam its a lot quiter to shake it then smack it around and shit, although its quiter to be dead so maybe its best to smack it?

  • @wilkes420 No thats not why we do it. Its an old technique that is taught and has never been improved. They only teach it to us because theirs some oblivious retards who need a idiot proof method of clearing bolt partially forward obstruction. We do it in training, we don't in field.

  • @MadOgre I agree, SPORTS makes much more sense and decreases waste movement quite a bit.

  • @MadOgre CF are awesome, I think they shake it out the round instead of rack rack rack. whatever works for them. They shoot a lot of ammo in afghanistan

  • @MadOgre I agree it does look slow and awkward (and ineffective) to clear the stoppage by shaking it. But, I myself have never had the opportunity to shoot a C7 or C8, so I guess I don't really know what that's all about. It just looks that way to me. Also, hats off to you US soldiers fighting with our men in Afghanistan, some tough warriors I've heard.

  • @MadOgre I think it has something to do with the round being visible and loose. Other than that it's slap, rack, and go.

  • @MadOgre

Seems like something we do similar in the Australian Army, if its and obstruction we take the mag off and shake it to clear.

  • i like the c8, have literally no kickback at all :)

  • those are c7a2s

  • Completely idiotic to hold the magazine with the hand. Slight movement of the magazine could jam.

  • I am going to assume that you have never shot a C7 from this comment.

  • What's the difference between a C7/C8 and an M16/M4?

  • C7 is quite much the M16A3, as it has a rail plus full automatic capacity. In addition, it's heavy barrel.

  • they should use the C8 for CQC

  • gunfighter
