The owner explained that a 5series doesnt have this engine he took it out of a 745i and as for telling the difference,well u gotta open the hood...thats why nowadays there is a t before the i no more confusion

There were two E28 745i engines. The m102 3200cc turbo, and the m106 3400cc turbo, and the reason they called them both the 745i, was because BMW stated that with the turbo it would have the same power as a 4500cc non- turbo engine, so it's all a bit of misleading to the public and buyers.

Now about the dudes in this video.

They took a engine from a 745i, (the M102or the M106, i don't know witch one) and swaped it into the car in this video, and that's why they call it a 545i.
