Fox panders to the ignorant & easily manipulated. The OP actually thinks he's making a point-- "that woman has the hots for Obama." But if he'd take time to look up the word exogenous he'd be embarrassed. By employing tactics like labeling people "liberal elite" Fox asks for willful ignorance / stupidity. Fox implies that it's better to misunderstand big words than to know them. Why? Because information is power, and leads to intelligence and freedom. Fox wants stupid people it can control.
@kakompo NPR pays almost nothing, so you kinda forgive her for getting the extra income to put the kids through college or whatever, even as sleazoid as Fox news is.

Yes, but the difficulty of words is completely relative. Some people are more educated than others. Of course you should pick the right word for the audience. This lady is commentating on TV; does that mean she should use the lowest common denominator? Should we blame somebody for not understanding or somebody for using something that they understand? Obviously, there is a middle way but I support those who don't understand to consult a dictionary and not mock others for being elitist.
If someone uses language to try to build their reputation or self-esteem by an ignorant attempt to seem smart, then yes they deserve to be mocked for their arrogance and ignorance.
If you think speaking clearly in common words is talking to the "lowest common denominator," then you don't know much about communication. Nobel prize-winning theories can be described plainly and clearly.

actually 'exogenous' is the correct word -- usually used in economic models but is ok here as well. Means an external event that comes from outside the model that changes the internals of model.
All of the Federal Income Taxes you pay goes to a Private Bank in the form of interest (profit) on loans to the government. Not one penny goes to the Government, not one fucking penny. In fact this PRIVATE bank is owned by the wealthiest people on the planet. Further more you personally owe them over $70,000.00, and you WILL pay these men...period. You know this bank as the Federal Reserve Bank.
McCain and Obama, mock you and your political stupidity. They laugh at you at their fancy cocktail party's with there rich donors. They know you will not take the few hours needed to realize what is really happening. They know you get your news from TV, and what you read on Yahoo, and think you are informed. In fact they count on your ignorance and stupidity. Its the oldest play in the book, and it works every time...divide and conquer.
Middle Class taxes in America. (thats the workingman)
Inflation 4% (if you don't know thats a tax then you got a lot to learn about your money)
Property and Misc. taxes 6%
City sales tax 6% x .60 = 3.6%
State 9%
Federal 26%
TOTAL == 48.4%
Note: Many hidden taxes were left out that you pay everyday and the real number is much higher, but too horrifying to print for your small minds to fully comprehend.
Hmmm... maybe a foreign policy crisis? So - she's seriously hoping for a foreign policy crisis so that McCain can look better? And wouldn't it be surprising if something like that suddenly came up?? I would not put it past the Republicans to try to concoct such a thing.
Let´s hope that the Americans get their act together and vote for Obama.
Face it - the US is a lot worse of now compared to prior to the Bush JR era. A complete idiot has run your country for eight years, your economy has hit rock bottom, the "war on terror" is a joke, and the rest of the world hate your
President Bush is not a "Junior"? So George Walker Bush is not the son of George Herbert Walker Bush? Regardless, he has shown himself to be lacking in intellect and foresight at numerous points during his presidency.
Finally, your "person on the sidelines of the war on terror" comment is both irrelevant and nonsensical. The Netherlands contributed troops to Multinational Force Iraq from 2003-05 and currently has 1800 troops in Afghanistan.
No, President Bush is not a "Jr" despite being the son of G.H.W. Bush. You can trust me on this one, (I am a Jr.), or look it up.
I will agree that there have been mistakes in W's presidency, but will not attribute them to the causes you state. Don't believe him to be lacking in intellect, or foresight (altho I will grant you that he is lacking in clairvoyance).
My comment is neither irrelevant nor nonsensical for the reasons you state and bcse fella was not a participant.
I think she used the word she wanted. "Exogenous" - caused by external factors. If we think of the electoral campaign as a system, then any events that come from outside that system, such as natural or economic disasters, are exogenous factors. As opposed to endogenous factors, which are the stump speeches on each side and the mud-slinging generated by the McCain campaign.
Very good explanation of the two words, with good examples -- right up to the point where you cited McCain as the mud-slinger. Not that McCain has not used negative ads, but to imply that Obama doesn't also is dishonest.
Yes, that was a bit of a dig at McCain. Obama has had negative ads, but it seems to me that Obama's have come as counter-punches. Obama has no problem talking about the issues - he's the one who benefits once people see the mess we are in. You have to admit - it is McCain's own campaign that said they need to "turn the page" on this economy talk and drop hints that Obama hates the U.S. Maybe we just have to agree to disagree, but most people are put off by McCain's desperate tactics.
Don't worry about it you Canadian piece of shit. Who the fuck asked you and who the fuck cares what the fuck you think you piece of shit! YOu want pea-brain? Look in the fucking mirror asshole. Now go and get some free medical care you fuck-face.
I lived in Canada for 16 years. and i didint pay anything to. but it took 6 weeks to see my Dr. 3 1/2 month to get a cat scan 2 more months to get someone to tell me what the hell was wrong with my back.still never found out anything! then whent to the states payed 48 bucks a month for 1 month saw a Dr. im fine now!
Nice... As long as it's free, that's all that's important to you loosers, aye? It goes something like this: "Oh, shit...I'm having a heart attack. I'd better call the doctor now so that I can get my appointment... IN 3 FUCKING MONTHS!!" Don't be a looser all of my life.
Actually NOT. We all pay, and all get service. My father did have a heart attack, 10 years ago, and got A-! immediate service. He's strong as a horse now. Without our country's health insurance, it may have bankrupted the family. See, we don't pay for golden parachutes, and executive perks, like your insurance campany CEO's get. That keeps our costs down to 1/2 what Americans pay.
expatted, My father waited many times in the ER for as long as 15 hours. For him to pick up Rx once a month, the wait was 8 to 10 hours. My father died in his sleep because his healthcare provider would not allow him to get a new C-PAP when his 4 y/o system failed. I AM glad that your Dad got the help, Thank God. As far as my fathers situation goes? It speaks for itself. Nothing done.
Canadians are 100% in agreement that their health system is better than anything in the USA (except for the ultra rich).
This could be why most all states adjacent to Canada are supporting Obama. Montana is the last hold out, and it is beginning to lean to Obama and universal health care.
Ummmmm...Did Beavis and Butthead guest-host this show? What a lil perv! Although she's just trying to sound smart, she uses the term correctly; however, it's generally used in medical context.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Give her a break, she is a liberal, she is allowed to be stupid. Stop making fun of her, one half of her brain isnt working, because if it were, she would be a republican.
Exogenous (or exogeneous) (from the Greek words "exo" and "gen", meaning "outside" and "production") refers to an action or object coming from outside a system.
They're Liberals, so "wrong" is what ever they feeeeeeel it is whenever they have a feeeeeling that it should be so for the moment -- in ANY of their 57 states.
(They get cranky between Comedy Channel "news" reports.)
cant; "And Palin's popularity continues to decline", maybe you can't vote for Hillary, but anyone making a really stupid statement like that should not be ALLOWED to vote.
exogeny -- In an economic model, an exogenous change is one that comes from outside the model and is unexplained by the model. For example, in the simple supply and demand model, a change in consumer tastes or preferences is unexplained by the model and also leads to endogenous changes in demand that lead to changes in the equilibrium price. Put another way, an exogenous change involves an alteration of a variable that is autonomous, i.e., unaffected by the workings of the model.
liasson defended obama's association with ayers by saying their kids went to school together.Ayers children are in their 20's and obama's are grade school age.
exogenous is a scientific term (originating outside the organism) inappropriately applied to a socio-political situation. The real moron is Ms. Liasson attempting to appear intelligent.
It's hilarious how fast these morons are running from the disastrous "deregulation as religion" republican policies that led us off this financial cliff. No more one page summary moron presidents (Reagan)no more preppie dopef fake cowboys (Bush) no more devious fat old white men (Cheney and Rove) Give me someone who can think and speak in complete sentences, without flash cards or canned answers. OBAMA/BIDEN '08. Digusted with McCain/Palin in NH...Rich
While Fox is scrambling to run Obama/Ayers and Wright connections, what are they NOT talking about?
Todd Palin: A registered member with The Alaskan Independence Party in 2002.
The founder: "The fires of HELL are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government..."
Sarah Palin: "Blessed" by Kenyan minister Thomas Muthee who assembled a witch-hunting mob in the villiage of Kiambu to stone a "witch" to death for not converting to christianity.
The financial crisis is not 'exogenous' -- it has been created largely by Republican policies, ones that McCain supports. To say that it is 'external' to the campaign is ridiculous.
FOX NEWS -The Spin Zone -Informers for the Neo-Nazis -Corporate Politics keeps us rich -The Australian's doing crowd control -Inciting war because it sells more -More profit in oil than in solar collecting foil -A cog in the Military Industrial Complex -Republican MEGAPHONE! -Fascism at its purest - 1 World, 1 Dream, 1 Perspective -Youll die unless you take the pill from our ad break -Fear & Hysteria -Leading the Sheeple
The clip is taken out of context. From what I can gather, her use of the word "exogenous" could be the correct word in this instance.

actually 'exogenous' is the correct word -- usually used in economic models but is ok here as well. Means an external event that comes from outside the model that changes the internals of model.

Simple facts for dumb Americans:

Simple math for dumb Americans:
Middle Class taxes in America. (thats the workingman)
Inflation 4% (if you don't know thats a tax then you got a lot to learn about your money)
Property and Misc. taxes 6%
City sales tax 6% x .60 = 3.6%
State 9%
Federal 26%
TOTAL == 48.4%
Note: Many hidden taxes were left out that you pay everyday and the real number is much higher, but too horrifying to print for your small minds to fully comprehend.

Let's hope that people with no standing in the execution of or results of the vote butt out.
Face it -- the pop of the Netherlands can't vote here, and aren't governed by the winners of the elections.
Current Prez Bush is not a "JR", nor is he an "idiot". Perhaps if you lived here, you'd know that.
Economy has not hit "rock bottom", and for a person on the sidelines of the war on terror, you have not earned the right to insult it.
World hates U.S.? Who cares?
InvestigatorDave 3 years ago
President Bush is not a "Junior"? So George Walker Bush is not the son of George Herbert Walker Bush? Regardless, he has shown himself to be lacking in intellect and foresight at numerous points during his presidency.
Finally, your "person on the sidelines of the war on terror" comment is both irrelevant and nonsensical. The Netherlands contributed troops to Multinational Force Iraq from 2003-05 and currently has 1800 troops in Afghanistan.
BrezhnevIsMyCoPilot 3 years ago 2

As opposed to endogenous factors, which are the stump speeches on each side and the mud-slinging generated by the McCain campaign.
miguelin97223 3 years ago 6
Very good explanation of the two words, with good examples -- right up to the point where you cited McCain as the mud-slinger. Not that McCain has not used negative ads, but to imply that Obama doesn't also is dishonest.
InvestigatorDave 3 years ago
Yes, that was a bit of a dig at McCain. Obama has had negative ads, but it seems to me that Obama's have come as counter-punches. Obama has no problem talking about the issues - he's the one who benefits once people see the mess we are in. You have to admit - it is McCain's own campaign that said they need to "turn the page" on this economy talk and drop hints that Obama hates the U.S. Maybe we just have to agree to disagree, but most people are put off by McCain's desperate tactics.

1gesteban 3 years ago
Actually NOT. We all pay, and all get service. My father did have a heart attack, 10 years ago, and got A-! immediate service. He's strong as a horse now. Without our country's health insurance, it may have bankrupted the family. See, we don't pay for golden parachutes, and executive perks, like your insurance campany CEO's get. That keeps our costs down to 1/2 what Americans pay.
expatted 3 years ago 2
expatted, My father waited many times in the ER for as long as 15 hours.

(Oh forgot Idaho, but it's border is minimal).

exogenous means an outside event. Ie an event not created by Obama.
5uper5tring 3 years ago
exogeny -- In an economic model, an exogenous change is one that comes from outside the model and is unexplained by the model.
