Sorry to say this,but my E30 hits 260 kmh // 155 mph (Limited) a lot faster than this .. still,the best GTi after the R & G60.. all seriously quick hatches.. we need more good footage of the Mk.V E30 in action,as they're simply gorgeous to drive....
funny how the more numbers or increments there are on a speedometer, the slower it looks like the car is going...I like how the speedo starts out in increments of 10, then at the top end they're increments of 30...so you're blasting off like a rocket, then the gauge makes you second guess the seat of your pants....
@xxBlackpspxx Um, that's something like 167mph...seems a bit high for 200~bhp...I'd believe 140 or 145... considering Jeremy Clarkson apparently "set the speed record for a production car" in a Corvette on the Bonneville salt flats at 176mph...167 sounds a lil exaggerated to me for any stock GTI...
@yellowmusicfreak my brother and dad had a golf GTI 6 (210 hp) stock. My brother had it with DSG (automatic transmission) and my dad with manual. The manual one was a bit bigger (4 doors), so also heavier and 3 people were inside but my brother only him and its only 2 doord but still the manual GTI from my dad was faster and did almost 270kmh i think. well it was more than 250. So it depends if you have automatic or manual maybe...
it surely can go much more than 240km/h.... i have a Golf VI tsi 160 hp stock and i was with 235km/h top speed. Nice speed but when i look a car with 70 hp upper than me go only 5km/h faster i am a little disappointed. you can do better! :D if you don't believe about my Golf and the 235km/h i have videos and pics which i can upload if u want. :)
yeh, I run out of runway need to find a longer one. Only trouble with the bluefin chip is it gives you plenty of legs but you can't use them on the road so pretty pointless. What I really need is better acceleration!!!
Hi, its all a matter of choice, only 30 in NZ, only 3 dr in NZ, on tap 307hp (with superchip) or if you just crusie 6.8l per 100 on a run. No jap imports, not as heavy as a R32, a wolf in sheeps clothing, lighter a 1335kg what more can I say. I like them so much i brought one for my wife and one for me. I have never been so fast in a car 290 plus thats pretty fast in a golf and as steady as a rock, in germany of course. Cheers whatever you get they are both fine cars R32 or edition 30.

my Edition 30 is faster than that. 260 is no problem and if u keep it up for a bit, it hits 270 as well (stock!!!)

the difference is not in max speed.. it's in the time and the way you get there...

of course gti accelerates much faster than a simple tsi but 70 hp can't make difference only in acceleration. It can surely go up to 260.
