I bought the Ric-Tic 45 of this masterpieces when it was first released in late 1965. It only peaked at #25 on the local charts, but over the years, I've more than gotten my money's worth from the 45. It's a classic and it's great to see J.J. Barnes revisit it with all of the fervor of the original. God bless him!
YOU ARE OUR LEADER ! I met many of the Northern Soul Artists but to record JJ well thats nearly as cool as me pinching a few chips off Uncle Ray's plate in cincinatti.. Thats what I call SOULXCHANGE Andy Cox
Back in the 70s, we managed (at the eleventh hour) to get JJ for an appearance at the Howard Mallet Soul Club, Cambridge, UK (he appeared at the Alconbury USAF base the same night).
The guy was quality - great memories of that night!
Another AWESOME record. My daughter recognised this straight away, she is now 23 and she knows all the clasics from the Wheel, Wigan & Blackpool Mecca days & thinks our age had something special with great music to dance too (which we did). Thank again Ian.
