There is a great deal of historical evidence of past religions that are now recognized as mythology and superstition. Some of these religions are similar to Christianity in significant ways. Humans have used belief in gods to assuage fears of the unknown, especially fear of death. It is time for humans to grow out of superstition. It is time to admit that we cannot know everything and that is okay. We can pursue answers through science, the greatest of human endeavors.
Of course i do not agree with you i am far beyond the reaches of any sort of religion I spent the first half of my life being in and out of religion BUT i do respect and honor you, you seem like a really cool guy thank you for the response dude.
@sundiatasoulbefree I like your opinions and there beautifully well put and i know your real dude, and ur videos are hilarious, i definitly be watching more :) But as a matter of truth, i think the best truth is when people can agree to disagree and set aside their differences either way, we might not agree on the same beliefs but we do agree that it wont come in the way of two people being friends and that feels like the best truth to me. Awsome vids, keep up the good stuff.
2 kinds of truth exists in my eyes truth in the eyes of the beholder and universal truth, universal truth being something like gravity, how do we know it exists? Because we are not floating out into space, it is a truth that is measurable and consistent. "Beauty" is something that is true to the eyes of the individual and it changes from person to person that is were i place religion and superstition furthermore i don't feel it does anything to further along man as a species.
@sundiatasoulbefree But all these things like gravity, beauty or anything else, it has all been described by how we or an induvisual sees it, all these things are being explained by how we percieve it. And again, I cant say I know what the truth but my way of thinking of it is like the matrix, we all could be living in a dream world and when we die we could wake up to the real world but then again its just perspective.
Ok I will concede that there is opinion as well as perspective but i counter with there also being reality and fantasy, a example would be a schizophrenic person seeing things and hearing voices we can't actually PROVE that he or she is seeing and hearing what they claim to be but in our understanding we know that they have a disorder, so from their personal perspective they see things but in the reality based on acquired knowledge they are crazy. We can only get FACTS from evidence.
@sundiatasoulbefree But who decides what is reality and fantasy? I know that when some one has a mental disorder or pyschotic problem, they lose touch with everday reality, like what people call the so call "normal" but that is still a perspective, people are still deciding what is reality and what is fantasy based on a system where if this person does not follow the status quo and do as we do, then he is crazy? Its only crazy cuz its crazy to the people that keep to the normal everday life.
@PriestBoy11 Reality is SUBSTANCE for instance if i throw a baseball at your head as hard as i can 100 times in a row, 100 out of 100 you will sustain a injury in some way shape or form and that is true out of everyone that i throw that baseball at, I am no scientist but i define reality as something that is measurable and consistent like I mentioned before with gravity, it has a law that we have figured out which governs its behavior we have observed and studied it and we know it is accurate.
That is reality as far as we know it and anything outside of that reality is speculative and can not be considered a universal truth. Crazy can be subjective but accurate is not subjective and that point can not be argued without going around in a circle of semantics.
