Im using a Mcintosh 2205 with my B&W 802s3. Audio Research LS7 tube pre. Amazing sound. The HolyGrail of Audio.  Its all about the imaging and soundstage.

Great electronics, poor acoustics... Sorry, but you've got empty walls, no space between the speakers (TV reflects waves and distrots the soundstage), coffe table reflects waves, etc.

A system to show-off, but very little of a real high-end setup.

It really doesn't get much better" Sorry, dont wanna spoil your great experience with these speakers, but you should have spend way less on amps and cd player and more on the speakers (proper Accuphase or McIntosh integrated and CDP). I auditioned the 803D vs. 802D, first heard the 803D, then the 802D. After the first three notes or so we had the money down on the 802D. The 803D is a good speaker, but you listen to CD's, with the 802D you listen to music

@itsruw .....i disagree....a good pre-power set up will make even a mediocre speaker perform better,but a speaker cannot help a so-so amp.....three notes is not enough time to audition a speaker.....things that are exciting during an audition can become annoying over time....

@buckandotis: It may better a speakers performance, but there are limitations. And a 802D will certainly perform better with mediacore electronic than a 803D with highend electronic (And a proper Accuphase Integrated or McIntosh Integrated isnt really mediacore...) The difference between the 802D and 803D is huge. Listen urself before u post here. PS: In 3 years of owning them they never became annoying :)

B&W & McIntosh, i am usually never a brand whore. But those two just scream heritage. Very good choice. Small TV, same here i have a old 19" LCD for my sound system just for the media menu.

Actually, it's the mic gain levels distorting. But most standard mics found on video cams wont be able to handle this type of output.

My ear is leaning more towards a more neutral sound...like what you get with massive electrostatic speakers.. I just don't have the room..! Anyway - I'll turn it up so you can hear it from Miami...!
