  • If one horsepower = ~750 watts, what the hell does this mean? 2 horsepower max?

  • @QuakePhil Yeah he is putting out almost 2hp at his max power.

  • @QuakePhil The SRM power meter doesn't really measure how much power the rider is putting out, but rather how much power is being produced at the rear wheel. There is a good bit of mechanical advantage involved via the crankarms and drivetrain, but essentially yes, he is putting out about 2hp max to the rear wheel.

  • @Descentia Power is energy/time - mechanical advantage is irrelevant.

  • full of nasty ster

  • every time I won there was always a 1 involved. I wonder why...

  • Trek are better than spesh.....

  • @GREALDO21 It's not about the bike. Every bike that you pay that much for is going to be more or less the same. This brand loyalty bullshit is annoying.

  • @Nenbran575

i work for Trek so I've gotta be pretty loyal...

  • @GREALDO21 That's understandable.

  • Everyone can do 1450 watts with an inbuilt engine...

  • Comment removed

  • I have around 143 bpm 240 Watts and ANP 330 Watts/166 bpm, fabian has around 450 watts ANP i guess:DDD

  • thats pretty amazing. i have trouble holding 300W for 30 minutes

  • please remember that this is a reading from a six hour race!!!six!!!!!

  • Fabian is the King with 3-5k to go. At this point he can breakaway and outride the whole peleton. He is simply amazing.

  • 3500 dollar!

  • Meutzi......I've been tested at Kent Uni in the Uk. I produced 1193 watts for 8 sec and ave 250 watts on my VO2 Max test. I'm only an amateur mtb rider. So, believe me when i say that data is very credible for a pro rider at the very top of his game.

  • @Keyobardbeatz, 6500kJ registered at the pedal, but human body efficiency is ~24% and J to calories conversion is 4.2, so that those factors nearly cancels out and you are left with ~6500 kcal consumed.

  • no way he puts out 1450W... those number are wrong!

  • @meutzi Yes he does he's a monster =]

  • @meutzi Track sprinters put out around 2500W

  • @meutzi

Yesterday I put out 1450 Watts at the end of an endurance training ride for a few seconds, so believe me: this numbers are correct, he could do even more! What´s really impressive: 285 Watts @ 143 bpm, this is fucking amazing, with this average heartrate I hardly reach 200 Watts:(

  • @ChrisRebmann "What´s really impressive: 285 Watts @ 143 bpm" Yep for 6 hours lol......I wonder what his food intakes! I get that average watts at 160+bpm using garmin 800 & powertap slc, cheaper than SRM system but it works the same :)

  • @apocrepa

I´ve got a Power2Max system, works fine and is just about 1200 € with a Rotor 3D crank

  • 285 average watts, i could do that....but not for 6 1/2 hours :-(

  • is it 6450Watt instead of 1450watt?

  • @luyaosuperman are you outta your mind??

  • Maxium heart rate suprised me!

But 1450 watts max! Holy shit!

  • And his special motor is found in the bb

  • 7 ate 9

  • very interesting video, a big thank you

Fabian is a great guy and a fantastic sports hero

  • Thats over 7000 calories burned. 285 watts for six hours is crazy.

  • @saucy05 6500 kj to calories is only 1500 calories burnt? surely he burnt more than 1.5k?

  • don`t worry folks, doping is history !

  • 1450 Watts max! And that wasn't sprinting (he didn't need to). Just TRY to put out 1450 Watts, and see what happens. Sheesh, what an animal.

  • how can these guys ride that hard for that long! I don't know that I'll ever ride for 6+ hours in my life, and if I ever tried I'd probably be ready to fall over near the end.

  • this computer alone is over 1000$!??!?!

  • @glozick The crankset kit includes the basic monitor I think. Not much consolation considering the whole package is $3K. Amateurs use powertaps.

  • @glozick the computer isnt expensiv, its just the power meters in the pedal that costs more than 2000$

  • What a great bike!

  • Lets see how well he will do without Bjarne Riis by his side now that he has changed teams...

  • an electrical engine producing that kind of power output(think how heavy fabian is) inside the bike??? really?? are we that stupid?

  • Where is the bit about his mini engine inside his bb?

  • @daFranch1se69 You had better be joking.

  • @daFranch1se69 It seems those bike exist, and if you look at when he broke away, it looks quite weird... he seemed to suddenly take it cool while accelerating and dropping everybody! The videos of the acceleration are quite easy to find here, just type "Cancellara doped bike".

  • @mattsnow81 "when he broke away, it looks quite weird" - didn't look weird to me, or anyone else I race with. He's powerful enough to accelerate while remaining in the saddle - quite good for stealth attacks. No-one expected him to go that early, that's why it seemed so dramatic. You won't see that happen again because everyone will do anything they can to get on his wheel, even if there is 40 miles to go...
