These were great! It kept people watching during commercials.....The funniest one for me I recall was the top half of the face of Scoey Mitchlll (yes that is how his name is spelled) & the bottom half being Joyce Bulifant, with those teeth! I think possibly that Johnny O. just plain lost it!
That address was used for this, TPIR, and, actually, I think all other CBS Goodson-Todman/MG game shows since they were all taped at Studio 33 (nka The Bob Barker Studio). I've definitely seen it advertised for Card Sharks (Eubanks) and Now You See It (1989).
I have followed Johnny Olsen's instructions! I sent a self-addressed stamped envelope to the address in this video with a note that says, "Dear CBS, Please bring back the Match Game and send me tickets!" Consider doing the same to bring back the Match Game. I'll reply back here if I get a response. :)
How about some more ticket plugs like for example, the one where they superimposed "Lou Grant's Robert Walden's face on Elaine Joyce's blonde-feathered hairstyle (it aired on the infamous "Cuckoo, Fran, and Ollie" episode). I could not stop laughing, it was funny, LOL!
1:22 sort of looks like Wilem Dafoe a bit...

CBS needs to bring this show back, and base the new set on that of 1973 (TPIR did that when they changed the set for Drew, and it looks fab!)

Look at the first funny face ticket plug, would this be like Jeff Foxworthy (Are You Smarter Than a 5th. Grader) after a plastic surgery?

I just love this clip. Very funny. I didn't know they had morphing effects back then.

Isn't some this from the Syndicated years? Was Match Game Still on CBS stations after 1979 or did it move to another station?
coolwafferman 4 years ago
like u said, it went into syndication
yuhyup 4 years ago
I meant was it in syndication but still came on a CBS channel or did they move it off of CBS to a whole new station.
coolwafferman 4 years ago
syndication means they produce it, then various networks buy it. CBS may have carried it in your area.
