  • Buddha bless you :)

  • cosine doesnt start at the origin? isnt that Sine, not Cosine?

  • you are a genius

  • You are my savior!

  • U just saved my life, be my teacher plz

  • Pre-Calc midterm tomorrow at 6am. This video just wrote my exam review sheet.

  • omg............wow, my math teacher is shit

  • @sushiixx most math teachers are man

  • have my semester test tomarrow...efffmylife.

  • I wish you were my professor lol

  • i love you. be my teacher hahaha

  • OMG....THANKS ALOT!! Your explanation make this sooo much easier to understand...Great Math Teacher!

  • that was beautiful! I finally get it!!!

  • taking the ACT for the 1st time 2morro and i just learnd how to do this. never saw this in class

  • OMG, LIFE MAKES SENSE.

  • I LOVE YOU!!! :D Now I know how to graph trig graphs! My math teacher realllyyyy sucks asssss next to you.

  • Can u please show us how to graph a really nasty trig function one like f(t) = 2sin(5(t-pi/3))-4, i got all the points correct however i cannot scale it correctly.... i went up by pi/10 each increment however it was difficult to find where pi/3 would be in the scale

  • if god exists... he should make this man immortal so he can teach my kids as

  • God bless u man. U are best university professor

  • FUCK my indian profesor this is the real DEAL.

  • I Have An Equation And Really Confused To Graph It.. Pleaseeeeeee tell me how :'(

    3 Sin2x - Cos3x = 1

    Please Anyone Help Me

  • This guy made me so happy!

  • You make math so clear and simple. First time I understand how the phase shift works! I wish my math teacher was like u :)

  • Thank you so much! I've been working now and inbetween that and school, I rarely have time to go to a tutorial and talk with my pre-calc teacher. This has made it so much better to understand, thank you!

  • I understand math?! OMG

  • 6:37 Boobs!

  • I like how his tie matches his first graph.

  • Just came by to see how to get the rest of the points on the line, im still sticking to my professors method of getting phase shifts by setting 2x+pi\2=0 and 2x+pi/2=2pi.

  • Thanks so much! :)

  • lol i just don't pay attention in school

  • U just saved my life my teacher didnt teach it like this thank you!!!!

  • he.. is like the best math teacher in the world.

i have a test tomorrow and he's helping me a lot. thank God I found him!!!

  • thank God, thank you

i can do my homework now, god bless you!

  • seriously... my problem in this topic , when the question is about to find value..

    example : Give sin x =-0.8290 and 0 < x < 360 , Find the value of x .

    please someone help me .. ~( -_-)~

  • Sir. You are a good teacher... I wish i did learn Trigonometry like this back on my days......Thank you very, very, much

  • WoW, all I have learned is that you realy need someone to know how to teach. No teacher should be called "Teacher" if he doesn't know how to make a pupil understand.

Your online lessons are like a ray of light...I can understand math much better than before lol.

  • why did the phase shift begin in negative? i mean on left side.

  • thanks, :)

  • สวดยอดมากก :D

    จากยากเป็นง่ายเลยอ่ะ

  • I don't know what it is...but the way he says 'Let's try another one' at 1:30 just makes me feel really excited and confident! And that's saying something...I've been teaching math for 5 years!

  • :O Very Clear and straight to the point. Understood it right away! (if youtube still had the stars rating, i would give this overall 5/5 but 4/5 for not showing tangent)

  • To me "Phase Shift" is a guitar pedal...

  • oh i don't get how you get two negatives for the third problem (idk why its -(-pi/2)/2 :O please reply someone!

  • My exam is on Wednesday and this helps for my revision.

    Thank you :)

  • I find it funny how people turn to youtube for their study. I have to admit this is very helpful

  • Why didnt i know about this! , omg this made so much stuff easier on me! , thanks dude , keep it up!!!

  • when you gave the second example i was like o__o

  • waste 30 minutes trying to figure this shit out, you sir taught it to me in 3.... can a brother get a hallelujah!

  • why is the phase shift pi/4? i thought it's pi/2 ??!!!

    (2x+pi/2) o_0

  • He has the best white board handwriting I've Ever seen

  • My math teacher is great, but sometimes it's nice to slow things down and get a solid grasp on the technique.

  • my heroe ;´)

  • Love this guy... it always help to see your videos to clear up concepts of what my teacher is saying or doing on the board.

  • Very good teacher. And darn good whiteboard handwriting as well!

  • whyyyyyyyyyyyy myyyyy math teacher cant just simply be like you T.T *tears*

you are the best math teacher i've ever seen in my life ^^ know sir that if i got full mark "no doubt" at tomorrow's final second semester math exam u will be the reason :) God Bless you Sir God Bless you...

  • why is the end point 3pi/4? his math didnt make any sense...

  • @Derf0293 Yes it did. The end point is 3pi/4 because the period is pi and the phase shift is -pi/4. -pi/4, 0, pi/4, pi/2, 3pi/4. Those are the four quarters that make up pi for the period.

  • what if you have a single X for Period?

  • @emilyromo

What do you mean? If you mean

cos x the period would be 2 pie

sin x the period would be 2 pie as well.

tan x the period will be 1 pie.

  • @emilyromo If you have just an x for the period, the period remains normal. sinx is 2pi, cosx is 2pi, and tanx is pi.

  • You are the reason I have 30 credit coming into college. Thank you!

  • I LOVE YOU MATH GUY! lol

  • for the phase shift, how do we know what intervals to go by on the x axis? our teacher told us common base between PS and period?

  • I love his monotone voice, it feels like im cuming from my ears just hearing it

  • Your hand writing makes math fun

  • I'm going to pass my quiz tomorrow because of this man. =')

  • @ShhImCool lol, same here! :P

  • I love this video!!!! You helped me a lot. A lot a lot alot!

  • I learned more from this almost-7-minute-video than I did from 2 class periods, which is 3 hours, in school.

  • Comment removed

  • I love this

  • Thank you so much! :D

  • thats my nigga right there

  • very simple explanation and this guy is very easy to like.

    subscribed

  • excellent!

  • thank you, very thorough :D

  • excellent

  • WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS WOULD DISLIKE :| WHAT IS THIS

your a great math teacher :D would be nice if you took the place of my calculus teacher next semester

  • I wished you lived with me so I would never have to go to math class again.

  • Wow, It was that simple. Thank you so much for helping!

  • Awsome! I get it finally. xD

  • EXCELLENT very well done, great review

  • i love the way you teach...plz give one vid about how to find the ecuation of trig fuctions..thanks :).....:D

  • I officially love this guy

  • clear and simple. the last thing you need in math is the alternative; very nice professor

  • i think theres an opening for math teacher in my school, apply!

  • @ceo4eva no lol I want him in my school..lol..XD..:)

  • My teacher tried explaining it. . . but he makes it so much clearer. Thank you cuz i have a quiz tomorrow

  • thank god for techology this makess me so happpppyyyy

  • why does he divide what ever the horizontal shift is by B?

  • @lucasdaudt222 The B value of any graph is 2pi / period, so rearrange that and we can get the period, which is 2pi / B

  • @lucasdaudt222 if y=sin(bx+c) the phase shift equals -c/b

  • why does he divide what ever the horizontal shift is by B?

  • why does he divide what ever the horizontal shift is by B?

  • This teacher is excellent !

  • It's completely beyond me but for some reason math teachers are some of the happiest people I've ever met.

  • This was so helpful

  • AWESOME!!!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • for number 2. how did he get 2pi/2 for period? help will be appreciated !

  • Thanks So much, don't know what i would do without you.

  • THIS MAN IS A LIFE SAVER

  • he reminds me of the doc from back to the future

  • @MrZKoll lol he kinda looks like him without the hair XD

  • Best trig prof i have ever had. When i grow up, i wanna be like you, sir.

  • pi/4 + 5pi/4 = 6pi/4 = 3pi/2 instead instead of 3pie/4?

  • @Gutsyndicate 3pie/2 is equal to 6pi/4, he's trying to figure out what is halfway in between. Which would be 3pi/4. Then again, it would be simpler I think to just mark each increment as +1 pi/4, so pi/4 then 2pi/4, then 3pi/4, then 4pi/4, then 5pi/4. That method gives you the same values, and you can just simplify the fractions afterward, and personally I find it easier, but what he did works too.

  • damn thats a nice free hand curve you drew

  • Great explaination :)

  • Ahh how does he determine the period?

  • VERY STEADY HAND

  • please be my math teacher from now on lol

  • I wish my math teacher was performant like you you... math became a taboo for me because of him

  • perfect, this is simple now!

  • i like it how he defined those starting and ending points. my textbook doesn't look at it that way. now it makes more sense.

  • this guy is a great teacher! and is it just me or does he write soo neatly on the board lol

  • Thank you so much!

  • Eventually i understood. thanx a lot!!!

  • Thank you very much. You have helped me a lot.

  • gosh why cant my math teacher be more like him.

  • very useful

  • So, Is the phase shift always -c/b ?

  • @joshuahratliff its not always negative its just c/b

  • phase shift is ALWAYS C/B NOT -C/B

  • @Ade161 how come he says negative/

  • because the phase shift is opposite of the sign

the phase shift either be positive or negative it just depends.................

  • beats the hell outta listening to someone who claims to be a "lecturer" and not a teacher

  • THANK YOU!!!! i have a hard time graphing, but when it comes to finding Amp,Period, and PS I know how 2 do it

  • I think I'll transfer to whatever scholastic institution you teach at.

  • thanks to you i possibly won't fail my trig final

  • You are amazinggggg thank u so much, i completely understood everything, do u do private tutoring?

  • U just saved my life THANK you

  • wicked???

  • Is this grade 11 or 10?

  • 11.

  • THANK YOU.

  • thnk you so much

  • nice lesson :)

  • *Confused as hell*

  • great teaching, and i wish i would draw as good of graphs as he would

    ahaha

  • this guy is really good

  • he's got a nice calm voice ;D

  • HES BETTER THAN MY TEACHER

    plus his handwriting kicks ass

  • he has nice handwriting hahaha

  • is there a reason math teachers cant be explicit like this?

  • Thank you math God. :)

  • whhatt? loooool

  • Tank you so much!

  • Great video! I'm in Trig right now, and this is my teacher's first year of teaching Trig (he has been an honors geometry teacher for twenty years), and that being said, he makes quite a lot of mistakes, making it hard to understand. You just cleared up my doubts, and hopefully made me able to pass my test tomorrow! :D

  • How do you determine period? I'm confused.

  • the formula for period is Period=2pi/b

  • @remmyjable

the sin, cosine, or tan of an equation determines the period. like sin (x plus pie over 4) and use 0-2 pie

to find start do xpluspie over4=0

to find end point do xplus pie over 4=2pie

    then u get:

    -pie over 4=x

    7pie over 4=x

  • thank u. this video is good. he does that in a little bit different way as my teacher taught me. but both works.

  • what a good teacher now I know thank you sir.

  • wow why isn't he my teacher? i get it now

  • Thank you very much...it makes sense now.

  • I LOVE THIS MAN!

  • Comment removed

  • Because you use the opposite sign for the +pi/2 part.

  • thnx

  • ure wayy better dan my teacher...god dam i got so fustrated until i finally seen this! yea!!!!

  • u saved my life .

  • Thank you so much... Life saver

  • 6:05, doesn't he mean 4? With A=|4| the cos graph should start at (pi/4,4).

  • thankssssssssssssssssssssss

    extremely useful video

  • THANK YOU!

  • Best Youtube Teacher I've Seen!

  • Note: If you take away 5pi/4 - pi/4 you'll

get 1 in your calculator. Even if you solve it mathematically.

All you have to do is think of a number between 1 and 5. Use your finger, your middle hand is 3 the 3rd from left or right so that's why he said 3pi/4.

  • Oh so that's what you call a

"trig function graph". Dang I should've watch this video a while ago.

  • I'm really weak when it comes to math, but after seeing your video, I could really learn a lot from you that suffices more than an 1 hour of lecture. Keep up the good work, professor!

  • It takes an hour lecture to learn this... Damn, we did this in 5 minutes of class.

    >_>

This guy is pretty good though.

  • good teaching
