Because in Racing games the environment can be pre-rendered as it is static and the playing area is bound to the track itself.

So the Graphical power is only used to calculate everything that is moving because the scenery is mostly static stuff; that way the GPU has to do less in these type of games.

There are 10 cars from the VIP and Exclusive car pack, 10 cars from the Free dlc on the first day with 2 tracks, and you either get 1 painted audi or 6 cars for pre-ordering. and 3 painted cars for taking a pic of your receipt and send it to forza. but I am getting it on release date since I"m picking it up than actually getting it from online.

this games is amazing n this is a word from a ps3 fanboy here who have played this game, few issues is that it has some graphical issues (eg cartoony cars, but not all of them) and i thought the physics are not as what as i expected (eg i hit a wall at over 100mph and only little damage on the car and car roll overs looks like they're in slow motion)

yep it is and the physics are only excellent when you're driving, you should check out the telemetry you can turn on, its crazy how much stuff the physics engine calculates

your right (im on both sides of the 460/ps3 fence) but i think physics when it comes to handling is always getting more and more realistic and crash damage is getting more realistic, but crash physics cn only get so real because otheriws eyoud take forever to finish the game, 1 crash at 100mph and your out is no fun so theyll refrain from keeping it too real.

Yeah unfortanately so little racing games get driver ai right. There usually either over agressive and unrealistic or cars on a track in there own world.

I still plan on picking up forza, but i really do wish developers start looking to making a realistic challenging ai.

Game looks great, but I personally think GT5 is better. It's pretty cool that cars can be damaged, but with that they sacrifice quantity of the cars. Most of the time when I race I don't crash, so it's kind of a waste. GT5 no doubt has better graphics, that's an actual fact. One thing that GT5 does disappoints me with is the number of tracks, the PSP version had 35 tracks with 60 layouts. hopefully GT5 will have more.

the most awesome feature of Forza is the storefront where you can purchase custom designs. Those designers make the most awesome shit out of 4200 layers of decals, including Tupac cars, Eminem, Brüal Legend, ODST, Halloween, Watchmen, Playboy, Rolex etc. even porn cars lol

and the game isn't even out worldwide yet

this and the amazingly realistic physics make it an fucking amazing game that everyone should buy even when you get GT5 when it comes out in a year

personally this game wins it for me out of GT and Forza because Forza allows you to play with 3 screens. So not only do you get realistic handling already, you can then create your own simulator quite easily.

This weekend i'll be trying Forza 1 accross 2 xbox1's and a 360 to get a 3 screen setup, and i might make it a permanent feature, cos i think thats an amazing simulation experience from a simple console game.

Need to get a good quality steering wheel of course too.
