I respect your perspective; however, I don't believe anything is wrong with the scriptures themselves, just the way people read them. In Revelations 19:10 it says that the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy. To me, prophecy is change and Paul was preaching a new message (just like Jesus) and was met with adversity, ignorance and arrogance because the people were comfortable & contempt. To me, the same applies today because people choose not to learn anything without proof to back it.

I believe Paul was simply saying to respect another person's house rules when you are in their house. But he also adds to NOT discard the teachings of christ.
I know it sounded kind of bad the way paul worded it, but he was just being real. He just explained it in a very blunt way. I think that's why Jesus was more vague than blunt because sometimes the truth comes across bad when it's presented strait forward. idk.
