I don't remember using the word "chic" as more than a cliche' but take it here as literal. Jessica's performance is "chic" and that includes a diminution of virtuosity for no other reason than the original intent of the performance. Basically, her performance is within close proximity to mainstream artists of her chosen genre and time is on her side!
