200 yard shots with a mark II ruger .22 is very possible...Just have to know your gun and where to hold for the distance.I have a ruger 22/45 and at one time could hit a paper plate at 150 yards 7 outta 10 shots pretty easily.Been a long time since ive done any shooting at that range with it.....Very possible tho
A friend and I have been doing this for years with open sights, 200 yds is about as good as i can do with opens but the gun is perfectly capable if the shooter is. Keep up the good work HK. Looking forward to more long range pistol vids.

The Ruger .22's are VERY accurate for pistols. Combat pistols generally don't have the same accuracy but can still put hits on man sized targets out to 100 yards pretty easily.

Everyone who is talking shit about this need to STFU. This shooter obviosly has practiced with his pistol and understands the fundamentals of marksmanship. This is possible with some practice and competition grade ammo. I can't make shots like this with my MK II but I can hit clay pigeons at 300-400 yds. from the prone position with iron sights on my stock AR.
What? are you shooting these pistols from a bench rest? I cant hit shit past 50 yds but i dont shoot pistols alot. .40 calibers i cant imagine are alot more accurate that .45 acp. Is that red dot magnifyed? I like shooting offhand at golf balls at 50 yds with 10/22 red dot to practice. I could do 400 yds offhand as long as i know bullet drop and it doesnt have chunky ass sights like a cheap 30 30.
@Boston1775 no i was using the top of a car for a rest in this video. also what i ment by best was that i have hit this plate as many as 9 out of 10 shots at this distance, and my AR 15 open sights prone at 400 yards at a 8 inch plate 3 or 4 out of every 5 shots. all my long range shooting with rifles is bipod rest only.
The pistol is capable of doing this but your shooting skills are not. Use quality standard velocity ammo and practice trigger and breathe control and you can do it.

@Boston1775 12x12 inch plate at 350 with a 10/22 i can hit an 8 inch plat at 100 with my .40 so soda cans is not realy much of a challenge with my mk3 at 100 yards. skeet with a .22 pistol. human siloet at 800 yards with a 16 inch barrel .308, 8 inch steel plat at 400 yards off handed with any centerfire rifle on the planet. countless crows,groundhogs, and cyotes over 400 yards with my AR.

sounds like a bum walther to me, the rear sight on mine has some play in it and its had around 4-5 thousand rounds through it, never had probs with bulk federal ammo in mine, 550 rounds between each detailed cleaning, stove pipe every now and then but nothing out of the ordinary for a .22 pistol. Actually what was the cause of the failure to lock open on empty was the fact that I would release the slide by pressing the slide STOP!! over a period of time this wore away on the slide which is not made of the best metal. The correct way to release a slide is pull back on the slide and let go. Not many people know this. This was confirmed by 2 professional gunsmiths. Thanks for the recommendation of Federal Bulk Ammo. My gun dealer said use only CCI mini mag. I will try this. Thx JAMES
yeah the slide release/stop is faster but pulling the slide is how i load mine when im not practicing real world shooting. Dont get me wrong cci is much better ammo the federal is 14 bucks for 550 when it comes time to get down to business, hunting or punchin paper for groups the cci is the way to go unless you want to give 10 bucks for 50 elley. In this video i was using cheep ammo. I use that pistol to shoot skeet aswell but have not done it since i have been on youtube, need to do it again.
CCI makes a round called the Velocitor. People don't use it for hunting because there is usually not too much left to eat. lol. However, a good concealed carry believe it or not would be the Ruger 22/45 with the 4" barrel loaded with 10+1 Velocitors. smithjacusmc does an ammo review of .22's. Yeah i have seen the velocitors but have never shot them whats the fps? I just figured it was a cooler name they used to try and sell somthing thats the same as the stingers. Stingers are hot rounds but have never got groups like i expect even with a custom 10/22 much less my pistols. More than agree with the idea of a 22 being a good back up or carry pistol even with the walther i can dump 10 in a few inch circle at 10 steps in 2 seconds. All about placment a 45 to the guts or a 22 to the dome?

With only 4900 rounds thru it, the gun seemed to come apart. i dont know they could be 1114.6666692 thats the speed of sound in fps. But thats only at the muzzle so they dont make a SUPERSONIC "crack" because after about 25 yards they are slower. My pistol is zeroed at 50 yards im holding about 2 1/2 ft. high at 200 so how long do you think it stays supersonic?
