  • epoustoufflant

  • weet iemand hoe die spaanse noemt die echt heel hoog kan zingen

  • SHe was incredible! Bravo bravo bravo!

  • Does anyone else get that...where the night you are trying to go to sleep after this production, you have insane 4 part compositions from the pieces playing in your brain...and you can literally almost hear the singers...yea...opera really is a drug that can have an unbelievably awesome influence on your brain!!

  • @shahp478 - I know what you mean. Opera is good for the mind and the soul.

  • @sopranosd I totally agree, mind body soul...

  • @sopranosd actually as I was at the subway a musician was playing a couple of the pieces at that time....it was on a flute...it filled the subway station...calmed all our minds...def gave him some money to end the night so sweetly.

  • @shahp478 Oh my goodness yes that flutist has been playing at the subway for years :) He is amazing!

  • magnifique quel beau moment ,

  • Aww I love it! :D

  • I fell in love with Joyce when she presented Furore at Carnegie Hall (authographed my CD), saw her in LA in Barbieri and attended thereafter a Gala with Placido, yes I got my picture with her, and....saw her on Dec31, 2011 at the Met!!! A friend flew from Bejing, yes, China, and me from Mexico. I saw her again today at the Met HD broadcast. Unquestionably she is todays number 1 Baroque mezzo, beautiful voice, technique natural acting talent, presence but, overall, wonderful human being.

  • Joyce I saw you live and although this video is amazing...the maybe soon you said at 3:10 was spellbinding...you were indeed a siren from Greek Mythology the way you sang that...I have never heard anyone sing like you had in those two words...It was amazing...it could have been a one woman show. But the rest of the cast were amazing as well. If you enjoy Baroque style, this is worth going too :)

  • @shahp478 Totally agree. I saw it yesterday at the Met, fabulous.

  • @jewelmarkess thank you for your reply. It was spell binding. I hope that everyone gets a chance to watch it. I thought Prospero's "Chaos Confusion..." was pretty great too. At the time I thought it the lyrics were a bit silly, but I caught those same words playing in my head ever since!!

  • @shahp478 Yes it sure was. I also loved Anthony Roth Costanzo, too bad there isn't much of his clips here. Layla Claire was fantastic too, but really - it was a really fantastic performance overall. It's also refreshing to see beautiful sets in a new production.

  • @jewelmarkess I know I have to agree with you and the sets were just amazing. I think my jaw dropped at the Neptune scenes...just wow...mermaids and all. Love the boat on water...it was just a delight for the senses!

  • @shahp478 Yes - my jaw dropped as well. Just wish the productions of other operas were as beautiful.

  • Was at the Enchanted Island on Tuesday evening, was well worth the 3500 mile trip to NYC from the UK. Joyce sung everyone else off the stage. She was magnificent. If you can beg, borrow or steal a ticket. GO.

  • Extraordinary ! Bitchy-witchy !

  • Can't wait for this opera! I adore baroque music

  • Fair!
