  • Can you fold down the rear sight of this carbine, so that you only use the hooded front ramp sight alone? THank you in advance.

  • hot damn, 300 yds WITH a pistol round carbine WITH wolf ammo!

  • You can get the compensator from Hi-Point. They also have a clip that mounts on the stock and holds two extra mags. Clip + two mags are at a good price.

  • Ok so i have to ask , where did you find the compinsator ?

  • Since you gentlemen make your own hand loads, how about the idea of a saboted 30cal bullet in a 45 acp case put as hot as it can go? sadly i do not reload , however i would love to see such a round if possible. XD

  • My dad and I saw one of these at a local gun show, and we want it! The irons aren't that great, but we'd want a red dot anyway. Perhaps one of those ACOG imitations? I think it'd look cool haha

  • I purchased the Hi-Point .40 carbine a few months back. I love it. It's accurate, reliable and I get a lot of positive comments from others at my local shooting range. For home protection its a great bang for the buck!

  • Great vid. I just recently bought the 4595. Great weapon. So far my AR must be jealous. What's the best ammo for it so far? I have tried a few but the way the gold dot hit. I am a believer.

  • I have to say this might be a low cost solution for me. I cant afford an AR15, or AK47. This is something I could actually save for and build up over time. Thanks for the review

  • I Dont understand, why do u have a scope on a .45 acp --hi point or anything? Makes zero sense, but man, the hi-point looks good to me, the new stock actually looks nicer. Loose the scope guys.

  • @mndfusion It was for accuracy testing. Open your ears. Barry said so at the beginning of the video. You ever try shooting 1" groups at 100 yds with irons? It's kinda difficult with no magnification.

  • wow thats cool, didnt know that hi-point made one in .45acp, I considered buying one years back but im not too fond of the 9mm. Ill definatly do some more research but the vids informitive.

  • Great vid!! this is what I was lookin for today thxs,I do oun the 45 pistol and added a houg handball #17000 slip on and WOW what a driffance.NEW GUN.I have lots of others firearms but im sold on hipoint thxs again for all your work

  • I own a lot of expensive handguns and rifles and my hi point 45 carbine is still one of my favorites.

  • @Moonfood78 I have to agree to an extent. These rifles are actually a lot of fun to shoot. I am think of building one into a bullpup.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 did you try using 1911 magazines in the 45 High point yet? I saw people made them work with minor adjustments to the 1911 pistol mags. I would probably buy the 40 cal version over the 45, mainly because 45 is a little pricey for me to plink with.

  • Eric,I drilled the bottom of the sight post on mine with a drill press, tapped the hole, utilizing the front sight bolt, so the sight sits horizontal in the housing and the post and housing stay together!Out of the way, and you can just loosen it and sit it vertical if you want to use the factory sights again.

  • should hot glue you a big patch of carpet to the table top so your shooting rest doesnt slide.

  • Dang it....Will you quit doing reviews on the hi-point's... I Can't find the 4595 anywhere.. Sheesh

  • you guys sponsored by hi point yet ? lol

  • @benhamlett Yeah they sent us an 8x10 of their staff giving us the third finger.

  • Sorry for bringing this up but when that one guy said in his southern accent were all gonna have a go on it, my mind went directly to that scene in Deliverance x_x

  • @Iraqveteran8888 ok so 1. I love your vids guys, you make guns fun for guys like me who generally were raised to think that that guns are bad and only for bad people. 2. because of this vid, I purchased my first gun ever from a friend and it is this exact model. Do you think this is a good gun for a first timer? im 29 so not a kid,but have only shot pellet guns in the past. Now the zombies and Squirrels got me to worry about! :)

  • @nicpierson Hi-Point makes a GREAT gun for the money (Pistols and Carbines: They both use the same firing operation so there is no real difference. The only people who say Hi-Point pistols jam are the ones with limp wrist syndrome and can't grip the pistol). But, shooting a Squirrel with a .45 would just be...wrong. There won't be anything but a tuft of fur left :|

  • damn this dude is legit, he doesnt even fuckin blink! goddamn

  • I have the 4595TS and I love it, not much on their pistols, but I am thinking of picking up the 9mm and the .40 S&W as well. Thanks for the video...

  • I have the 995. Never had an issue with it. Don't care much for the trigger or the magazine capacity, but the gun is built like a tank

  • @MrGT27 I thought they were rated for +P+ and am glad you confirmed that, could you tell us what type of accuracy +P+ delivers in your Hi= Point? Do you reload? do you use slower burn rifle powders?

  • @altops All Hi Point firearms are rated for plus p. Accuracy is very good. They tend to prefer the heavier bullets moving faster. I reload extensively, yes. I use slower burning powders when the need arises. I plan on doing a video on testing handloads out of this rifle. If you are a new visitor to my channel, I encourage you to subscribe.

  • Quite a difference! Ha! I got the old style 9mm carbine. Fun to run just for kicks, but could be pressed into other roles as well. My LE cousin heard rumors of them riding around in some Virginia cop cars years ago, but I have no way of substantiating the rumor. I love this stuff- Keep it coming!

  • Wanted one till I found out two things, one the triggers suck (not a huge issue) but two they use single stack mags which is a bummer.

  • @richiestang78 Yes, I hate the low cap mags, but the trigger on this particular rifle broke around a very clean 5 pounds or so.

  • I sold one of these 3 weeks ago and I'll be ordering few more to offer in the comming week

  • Just to throw this out there, I purchased a Hi Point 380 about 3 months ago after seeing your tests. After the third mag and failure to feed every other round, I threw it across the range and shot it with my Lee Enfield .303... Lee Enfield: 1, Hi Point 380: 0. Maybe it's beause I didn't "shake my ammo!"

  • i use those same targets at the range. I don't understand why there is a Q in the middle of the chest area tho

  • did you shake your ammo before you loaded your mags?

  • @poormanprepper Not one damn round....lol

  • Eric, thanks for the entertainment.

Here in Italy, we could have done even without Hipoint pistols,

but I think the carbines would have sold somewhat.

I love ALL your videos, and I can tell you that people don't mind for fancy effects - there's just too many to watch and learn from the very things you show.

    substance over looks.

  • Test the accuracy of it against the Kel Tec 2000 Sub!

  • I think I see the slugs towards the end of the video. Nice video, man!

  • Hi-Point needs to put you guys on the payroll for this video. Thanks for posting.

  • I have always heard these hi point rifles were a big step up from their pistols. thanks for the videos I like where your going with this channel

  • @Nicho2177 The carbines are vastly superior to the pistols. The pistols IMO are a wash at best, but the carbine is probably the best semi rifle for the money other than a SKS.

  • @Nicho2177 Their pistols operate with the same action. Those who complain about the pistols are usually those who cannot hold the gun enough to allow the action to cycle and thus insist it's the gun's fault for their lack of skill. Blowback pistols can't be limp wristed

  • @neothespian I happen to think their pistols are made cheap and are not what I look for in a handgun that my life will be trusted upon

  • @Nicho2177 they are cheap but they work and I've watched a guy limp-wrist it and still have it function. They are ugly and heavy but they work like they're supposed to and HP is outstanding in customer service. I've shot both the .45 and 9mm and if I'd shot them before I got my Glock 19 and Taurus MillPro PT145 my collection might look different. I have the .45 carbine and it's been reliable and a blast to shoot.

  • I have to ask a dumb question... I own one of these in 9mm. I bought it for cheap plinking and it was a fun little play fun. But unless you're hunting rabbits or ground hogs do these things serve any real purpose? I'm considering selling mine because I just don't see a ton of use for it.

  • Could you do a torture test and see how many rounds it wiil fire before failing ? I want a carbine but would hate to have it break after a few hundred rounds. My life could be at stake.

  • What about for a left handed shooter you guys hardly ever talk about that I know it might be uncommon but what rifles are good for lefties

P.s.you guys are awesome keep up the good work

  • No plus PEE?

  • @altops up to and including +p+

  • @MrGT27 did they demo it with +P? I didnt see it.

  • that is a very ugly gun -.-...

  • @snuffying Who cares what the gun looks like?? I'm sure the criminal on the other end won't be bothered with how a gun looks, especially when it's a .45 carbine of any type.

  • Ergos of a boat paddle.. ha ha love it..

  • So it's looking like your original opinion of Hi-Point firearms is starting to change a little, huh?

  • Your videos have always been good, but they are getting better and better.

  • @Julius44bc I am trying to push the quality envelope as far as I can. I don't want the videos to turn into a dog and pony show, so I like to keep it simple. I can do more elaborate video editing than I do, but I try to keep it about the subject matter, and not fancy editing.

  • did u chrono some loads? would be interesting to see how much velocity you gain in a 16inch barrel

  • @Fudoh1 I think I'll do a video on handloads out of this gun, yes. Didn't have a chance to chrono this time.

  • damn leupold on a hi point thats sacrilegious lol

  • you guys have a very nice shooting setup. Keep the videos coming, gives me something to look forward too when I get off work!

  • I hate the triggers on those. Can you change them out?

  • the sound of thos .45 hitting the jugs full of water is unreal. i wonder what fresh flesh would sound like when slapped by that wild BEAST!

  • leupold on a hi point thats like a whore wearing a nuns dress, great job and how well would this gun handle cast?

  • @temple400 hahaha yea a $400 scope on a $200 gun.

  • 8 words.

  • The company is a good one. And the owner has integrity. I'm sold on them.

    Long LIVE the CONSTITUTION !!!

  • : )

  • yeah ive seen nutnfancy running sub guns including the hi point. TheKEL tec sub 2000 seem good too

  • Good vid, better weapon than I would have guessed.

  • From 5:44-6:05 If you watch the target carefully, you can see the bullets(look like M&M's hitting the target,LMAO!!Great gun though!!!

  • if only they had some 20-30 round mags :( I'd get one for a personal defense weapon

  • @DaytonaRoadster From what I've read because of the $ of the pistols and carbines the owner of the company said he would never make a high capacity mag. I give him credit for integrity. I live about 20-30 miles from the company in Mansfield, Ohio. Just some extra information..

    Long LIVE the CONSTITUTION !!!

  • These (will make) believers out of you!!!!

  • nice will my .45 pistol mags work in it?

  • @tnb4mnf The mod for the factory 45 mags to the HP 45 carbine is on here,do a search, it is very easy to mod!

  • the rest sure does slide forward with that thing

  • @agooch7890 Barry didn't have in the right spot on the bench. We are in the process of building a permanent bench out here and drilling holes for the feet of the rest to sit in so it's much more solid. One of the many things I have on the to-do list.

  • Ah Hydrashok, how wonderful you are...

  • My son in law has a high point carbine in 45 . It doesn't have any optics, just iron sights but it runs real good with all brands of ammo.

  • What advantage does this give over a .22, like the 10/22?

  • @lafleurj9 .45 ACP is a great one shot stopper with lots of penetration. Expanding bullets do wonders in the .45 ACP also. The longer barrel in this rifle gives the .45 a good push of extra muzzle velocity.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Its from this long barrel still subsonic? I cant say if the followup sound there is sonic crack or just echo...

  • @DudeNumberOnePlus it is hypersonic, around 1,100 fps

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Say Eric,

Did you measure the muzzle velocity out of the carbine? I wasn't sure how much faster it would be.

  • @penguinistas I think alot of powders in .45 are designe to burn in a 5 inch barrel so the difference shouldnt be great.correct me if im wrong.

  • @tfoshohoe I fully agree. I'm just like to put some numbers on what the increase in muzzle velocity would be.

  • @lafleurj9 a regular FMJ 230g .45 out of a 16" barrel brings the energy level to about 750 units, or, around the low end of a .44 magnum out of a 4" barrel. Energy out of a 10/22 is around 190 units...Also, the .45 has about 4 times as much cross sectional area... (.45/.22)squared, from the equation of Area of a circle...

  • @lafleurj9

    It's a 230 grain bullet (45 ACP) compared to a 40 grain bullet (22LR).

  • well guys, what i saw was great video, but is it my puter....did i miss some video? it ended abruptly, was there more?

  • Would make a good SHTF system.

  • It's probably that piece of crap scope you've got on there. lol jk! loved the video.

  • @thegangvault2 Yeah.....dang POS $400 Leupold....

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Wish I could afford a scope like that. For now I'm going to have to content myself with a Bushnell Banner... on my $800 AR-15. :P Thank you for posting the vid.

  • Great video, I owned the original 9mm version before the "bubba tactical" versions they sell now, great gun with zero issues. One question though, could you add to the test by trying 185gr ammo in it?

  • @borntoventure Actually, we did test 185 grain Winchester Silver Tip out of it. It shot well out to 200 yards, but at 300, the groups opened up a lot. They were hitting in about a 5 foot circle around the bullet trap at 300.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Ok sounds good, thanks!

  • That .45 probably has some extra punch with the longer barrel

  • If it held more ammo, would you say that this could be a very nice zombie killer?

  • @isamtator eh....it's always quality to quantity when it comes to guns in my opinion. I'd rather be able to put 3-5 shots exactly where I want them and pop smoke than stick around and draw a bunch of attention to myself. There are plenty of idiots that will be doing that if the SHTF.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 That is very true, I hate wasting my ammo any way! I know it ain't the norm of nowadays I do prefer my savage, 30-06 bolt action rifle. I mean theys just something about a bolt action rifle that makes you slowdown just enough to make a clean, accurate shot! I love my revolver, but I know it is slow, to reload but it is the same thought of the bolt action rifle!

  • theyre charging up to $500 for these in Canada. I hate this country.

  • The HP carbines are ugly as sin, but the damn things do run well. I'm going to have to pick one up just for a range toy sometime.

  • @sniper7369 I'm planning on suppressing one....

  • @Iraqveteran8888

Heck yeah, perfect carbine for a can. Did you have a chance to run any of the 230gr stuff over a chronograph to see if it was still subsonic out of the longer barrel?

  • @sniper7369 Not yet but more testing will confirm or deny.

  • @Iraqveteran8888

    Cool, looking forward to it.

  • Have you heard about the government, wanting to ban the Taurus Judge! Say it is a shot gun, therefor it is illegal. The damn thing is built from the ground up to be a pistol! Not a shotgun!

  • Nutnfancy says the Keltec sub 2000 is ready for Navy Seals to take into battle so why not throw in a Hi Point Model 4595.

  • @semiautoriflelover1 Eh....I'm not going to say what I want to, but let's just say that if the Sub 2k was select fire, it would be the perfect PDW.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 I couldn't even fire my friends sub2000, I couldn't get my eye low enough or proper cheek weld, the one he had used SIG magazines and was totally unreliable. I would be better off with a handgun.

  • @semiautoriflelover1 Odd.....I have shot the ones that use Glock mags (the only good version of that weapon IMO is the 9mm Glock mag version) and have never had the first malfunction. Accuracy is useable, but I think the design's true colors would show in a select fire version.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Something was wrong with the sights on his, we couldn't not get it zeroed, it was way high at 25 yards. I'll stick to AKs and ARs.

  • That was neat. I have the 9mm version of this gun and I love it. I put a 4x comact rifle scope on it and that's perfect out to 100 yds. You can leave both eyes open up close and the optical difference isn't so extreme that it messes with your head.

  • was gonna get one of these or an sks in the end i got the sks but still love my Hi-point 995 as always great video

  • I wonder what it would perform like with some good hot loads

  • If it took standard 1911 magazines, I would be sold.

  • @MrBillTroop73 It will!

  • @MrGT27 Slight mag mod!

  • 22nd!

  • nice video but not in to that stiel of carbeen.

  • Why don't you guys wear hearing protection?

  • damn i wanna go shooten w yens!!

  • cool

  • Still aren't convinced on any high point yet. Don't think my life is worth $200 but nice vid still as usual

  • @MrGlockJock25 I'm with you on that one, I just picked up the Kel-Tec Sub 2000, everything I've read on it is true, accurate, reliable, and to much fun, just waiting on stuff for it so I can do some upgrading

  • @Iraqveteran8888 It looked like it was uncomfortable to shoot. Did you have a problem with the length of pull or scope relief distance?

  • @retsaoter No....LOP is great. It is a little uncomfortable in general, but I have to say with all honesty, for the money, it is a GREAT gun. Not one malfunction all day out of it.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 would you recommend it as a first carbine? Budget in mind of course. Id like to start reloading for my first carbine, so i thought of this, and a stevens 200 in .223

  • Zombie gun anyone?

  • did you guys ever send that c9 back to Hi-point to test the Warranty, and did the owner ever call you back after the "shake your ammo" speech???

    Thanks

  • Hmmm.......

  • Great vid. helping make my final decision to purchase one of these.

  • Pretty good stuff. And is very affordable it isn't?

  • I personally like the carbine's iron sights, I've gotten some seriously tight groupings at 70 yards with just the irons.

  • neat

  • I have a 1st gen. 995, and I can't complain about its accuracy either. Well done guys.

  • lol, i liked the bounce shots around the 5:20 mark.

  • Comment removed

  • ohboyohboyohboy...thats what i said when i saw this video:)

  • Torture Test in the future????
